On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, the desert city of Bikaner witnessed a powerful blend of democratic awareness, physical fitness and patriotic enthusiasm as a grand cycle rally was organised to motivate young voters to actively participate in the electoral process. Held under the theme “Fitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz” and aligned with the larger ‘Tour de Thar’ initiative, the rally unfolded in the august presence and inspiration of Union Minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, reinforcing the message that a healthy body and an informed vote are both essential pillars of a strong democracy.
A Symbolic Journey from BSF Headquarters to Junagarh Fort Reflects Democratic Continuity
The cycle rally commenced from the main gate of the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters and culminated at the historic Junagarh Fort, symbolically linking India’s frontline defenders with its democratic heritage. The route was carefully chosen to resonate with the idea of continuity—between security and sovereignty, history and the future, and rights and responsibilities. As the rally moved through the city, it transformed Bikaner’s streets into corridors of awareness, drawing attention from citizens across age groups.

What made the rally visually and emotionally striking was the participation of BSF jawans alongside traditional camels, an iconic representation of Rajasthan’s desert identity. Officers and personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) joined the event, further reinforcing inter-force solidarity and collective commitment to democratic participation.

Addressing the gathering, Additional District Collector (Administration) Suresh Kumar Yadav underscored the critical role played by young voters in strengthening democracy. He stated that the youth constitute the most dynamic and influential segment of the electorate, and every single vote cast by them contributes directly to shaping India’s future. He appealed to young citizens to fulfil their democratic responsibility by participating in elections with awareness and integrity.

CISF Deputy Commandant Sandeep Lamba highlighted that voting transcends the realm of individual rights and enters the domain of national duty. He urged young voters to become conscious, responsible and proactive participants in the democratic process. His message resonated strongly with the participants, especially in the presence of security forces, symbolising the shared responsibility of safeguarding both the nation and its constitutional values.

राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस पर बीकानेर में लोकतंत्र, फिटनेस और युवा शक्ति का संगम: ‘टूर द थार’ के अंतर्गत निकली भव्य साइकिल रैली ने युवाओं को मतदान के लिए किया प्रेरित
राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस के अवसर पर मरुधरा की शान बीकानेर में लोकतांत्रिक जागरूकता, शारीरिक फिटनेस और युवा सहभागिता का अद्भुत संगम देखने को मिला, जब युवा मतदाताओं को मतदान के प्रति जागरूक करने के उद्देश्य से एक भव्य साइकिल रैली का आयोजन किया गया। “फिटनेस की डोज आधा घंटा रोज” के प्रेरक थीम वाक्य और ‘टूर द थार’ अभियान के अंतर्गत आयोजित इस रैली को केंद्रीय कानून एवं न्याय मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल के सानिध्य से विशेष ऊर्जा मिली। इस आयोजन ने यह संदेश दिया कि एक सशक्त लोकतंत्र के लिए जागरूक मतदाता और स्वस्थ नागरिक दोनों अनिवार्य हैं।
बीएसएफ मुख्य द्वार से जूनागढ़ किले तक लोकतंत्र का प्रतीकात्मक सफर
साइकिल रैली की शुरुआत सीमा सुरक्षा बल (बीएसएफ) के मुख्य द्वार से हुई और इसका समापन ऐतिहासिक जूनागढ़ किले पर हुआ। यह मार्ग केवल भौगोलिक यात्रा नहीं था, बल्कि यह सुरक्षा, इतिहास और लोकतंत्र के बीच गहरे संबंध का प्रतीक भी बना। रैली के दौरान शहर की प्रमुख सड़कों पर लोकतांत्रिक चेतना का संचार हुआ और आम नागरिकों ने उत्साह के साथ इस अभियान को देखा और सराहा।
बीएसएफ जवानों, पारंपरिक ऊंटों और सीआईएसएफ की सहभागिता ने बढ़ाया आकर्षण
रैली का सबसे आकर्षक पहलू सीमा सुरक्षा बल के जवानों के साथ-साथ पारंपरिक ऊंटों की सहभागिता रही, जिसने राजस्थान की मरुस्थलीय पहचान को जीवंत रूप में प्रस्तुत किया। ऊंटों के साथ चलते बीएसएफ जवानों ने यह संदेश दिया कि देश की सीमाओं की रक्षा करने वाले जवान लोकतंत्र की रक्षा के लिए भी उतने ही सजग हैं। केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल (सीआईएसएफ) के अधिकारियों और जवानों की मौजूदगी ने इस आयोजन को और अधिक प्रभावशाली बना दिया।
‘मेरा वोट, मेरा अधिकार’ के नारों से गूंज उठा शहर
साइकिल रैली का केंद्र बिंदु युवा और नव मतदाता रहे। रैली के दौरान “मेरा वोट, मेरा अधिकार” जैसे नारों ने शहर के वातावरण को लोकतांत्रिक चेतना से भर दिया। इन नारों के माध्यम से युवाओं को यह संदेश दिया गया कि उनका प्रत्येक वोट न केवल उनका अधिकार है, बल्कि देश की दिशा तय करने का एक सशक्त माध्यम भी है। यह रैली युवाओं के लिए चलते-फिरते लोकतांत्रिक पाठशाला के रूप में सामने आई।
युवा मतदाता लोकतंत्र की सबसे मजबूत कड़ी: प्रशासन
कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए अतिरिक्त जिला कलेक्टर (प्रशासन) सुरेश कुमार यादव ने कहा कि युवा मतदाता लोकतंत्र की सबसे मजबूत कड़ी हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि युवाओं द्वारा डाला गया प्रत्येक वोट देश के भविष्य को आकार देता है। उन्होंने युवाओं से अपील की कि वे पूरी जागरूकता और जिम्मेदारी के साथ मतदान प्रक्रिया में भाग लें और अपने लोकतांत्रिक दायित्व का निर्वहन करें।
मतदान केवल अधिकार नहीं, राष्ट्रीय कर्तव्य भी है: सीआईएसएफ
इस अवसर पर सीआईएसएफ के डिप्टी कमांडेंट संदीप लांबा ने कहा कि मतदान केवल एक संवैधानिक अधिकार नहीं, बल्कि प्रत्येक नागरिक का राष्ट्रीय कर्तव्य भी है। उन्होंने युवाओं को जागरूक, जिम्मेदार और सक्रिय मतदाता बनने के लिए प्रेरित किया और कहा कि सशक्त लोकतंत्र की नींव जिम्मेदार नागरिकों पर ही टिकी होती है।
फिटनेस और लोकतंत्र साथ-साथ चलते हैं: फिट इंडिया समन्वयक
बीकानेर के फिट इंडिया समन्वयक सुरेंद्र कूकना ने कहा कि इस तरह की साइकिल रैलियां न केवल लोकतांत्रिक जागरूकता फैलाती हैं, बल्कि स्वस्थ और सक्रिय जीवनशैली को भी बढ़ावा देती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि स्वस्थ नागरिक ही सशक्त राष्ट्र का निर्माण कर सकते हैं और फिटनेस को जीवन का अभिन्न हिस्सा बनाना समय की आवश्यकता है।
वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों और नागरिकों की व्यापक सहभागिता
इस कार्यक्रम में बीएसएफ के उप महानिरीक्षक अजय लूथरा सहित प्रशासन, सुरक्षा बलों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी, युवा मतदाता और बड़ी संख्या में आम नागरिक उपस्थित रहे। सभी की सामूहिक सहभागिता ने इस रैली को एक औपचारिक कार्यक्रम से आगे बढ़ाकर जनआंदोलन का स्वरूप दे दिया।
