From Military Roots to the Global Stage: Ayushi Wins Best Speaker at Cyber Hygiene MUN 2026 in Bikaner
Bikaner, Rajasthan: Demonstrating exceptional public speaking skills, sharp analytical thinking and a strong understanding of cybersecurity, Ayushi, a Class X-C student, has won the Best Speaker Trophy at the CBSE State-Level Cyber Hygiene Model United Nations (MUN) 2026, held at Shri Jain Public School, Bikaner, on October 24 and 25.
The achievement is a proud moment for her school and family. As the daughter of an Army JCO Ayushi has made her mark through her own academic abilities, confidence and determination, bringing together the values of discipline and a passion for learning on a prestigious educational platform.
The two-day event, titled Cyber Hygiene Model United Nations (CHMUN) 2026, brought together students from reputed schools across Rajasthan to deliberate on cybersecurity, online privacy, responsible digital behaviour and emerging challenges in the digital world. The programme was organised in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), and the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) project of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
Representing Australia in the Model United Nations proceedings, Ayushi delivered a compelling speech on the importance of cyber hygiene and collective responsibility in safeguarding the digital ecosystem. Her address combined a clear understanding of cyber threats with practical recommendations for building a safer digital environment, earning her the Best Speaker honour.
Opening her speech with the powerful line, “Click once, regret twice!”, Ayushi highlighted how a single careless click in cyberspace can expose individuals, organisations and even governments to serious security risks. She emphasised that cyber hygiene is not merely an option but the first line of digital defence, arguing that prevention is far more effective and economical than recovering from a cyberattack.
Speaking from Australia’s perspective, she underlined the dangers posed by weak passwords, phishing attacks and outdated software. She stressed that cyber threats do not respect national borders and that digital security requires awareness and cooperation at both individual and international levels.
Ayushi urged the United Nations to promote cybersecurity awareness campaigns, regular software and security updates, multi-factor authentication and international cooperation to help developing nations strengthen their cyber defences. Concluding her address, she delivered a message that captured the central theme of her speech: “A secure click today prevents a cyber crisis tomorrow!”
Her performance reflected the qualities expected of an effective Model United Nations delegate: clarity of thought, persuasive communication, subject knowledge and the ability to present policy-oriented solutions to complex global challenges. The Best Speaker Trophy recognised her ability to articulate a country’s position while engaging with one of the most pressing issues of the digital age.
The CHMUN 2026 programme began on October 24 with an inaugural ceremony attended by Dr Ram Gopal Sharma, District Education Officer (Secondary Education), Bikaner, as the chief guest, and Sumit Srivastava, Project Manager at C-DAC, Hyderabad, as the guest of honour. The ceremony featured the traditional lighting of the lamp, Navkar Mantra and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a cultural presentation highlighting cyber hygiene and responsible technology use.
On October 25, the concluding session was attended by Satyendra Singh Rathore, Additional Director, Department of Information Technology and Communication, Bikaner Collectorate. He highlighted the importance of cybersecurity awareness, technological literacy and responsible online conduct in an increasingly interconnected world.
Students participated in discussions and debates through different MUN committees, assuming the roles of international representatives and examining cybersecurity-related issues through research, diplomacy and structured deliberations. The exercise provided them with practical exposure to public speaking, leadership, critical thinking, negotiation and collaborative problem-solving.
The programme was supported by jury member Sandeep Kumar Sarowa, committee chairs Babita Jain and Manoj Kumar, and co-chairs Khushraj Baid and Ruchi Baid, who guided participants throughout the deliberations.
In the UNGA committee, Germany received the Best Delegate award, Japan earned a Special Mention, Australia was recognised for Best Speaker, Egypt received Best Position Paper, France was named Hygiene Champion, and Estonia received a High Commendation. In the UNHRC committee, Greece won Best Delegate, Oman received a Special Mention, Japan secured Best Speaker, France won Best Position Paper, Germany was named Hygiene Champion, and Estonia received a High Commendation.
For Ayushi, the Best Speaker Trophy stands as an important milestone in her academic journey. Her achievement demonstrates that cybersecurity awareness is not limited to technical experts; it also requires articulate young leaders capable of communicating the risks, responsibilities and solutions associated with the digital world.
Her accomplishment also reflects the importance of an educational environment that encourages students to engage with contemporary issues, develop independent perspectives and express their ideas with confidence. Her success is an inspiring example of how dedication, preparation and disciplined effort can help young students excel on competitive platforms.
Shri Jain Public School, Bikaner, has continued to promote technology education, innovation and skill-based learning. Through CHMUN 2026, the institution provided students with an opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world challenges and understand the importance of responsible digital citizenship.
Ayushi’s success sends a timely message to students: digital safety begins with awareness, but meaningful change requires informed voices, responsible choices and collective action.

अपने भाषण के समापन पर उन्होंने कहा, “A secure click today prevents a cyber crisis tomorrow!”
