IIM Jammu Concludes DGR-Sponsored Operational Management Course for 45 Army and Air Force Personnel

The Directorate General Resettlement (DGR)-sponsored Operational Management Course at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has successfully concluded, marking an important step towards strengthening the managerial capabilities and second-career prospects of Indian military personnel.
The programme was attended by 45 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (ORs) from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. It was designed to enhance participants’ managerial skills, leadership competencies and professional capabilities, helping them prepare for career opportunities beyond military service.
The closing address was delivered by Brigadier HS Billing of White Knight Corps. Lieutenant General (Retd) Sunil Kant, SM, VSM, Senior Consultant and Chairperson (Healthcare) at IIM Jammu, was also present on the occasion.
The course reflects the importance of equipping military personnel with management knowledge and leadership skills that can be applied across civilian professional environments. Personnel serving in the armed forces develop extensive experience in leadership, teamwork, operational planning, discipline and decision-making. Translating these capabilities into civilian-sector opportunities can help them build successful careers after completing their military service.
Through its resettlement initiatives, the Directorate General Resettlement works to facilitate the transition of eligible service personnel into suitable second-career opportunities. Programmes conducted in collaboration with management institutions such as IIM Jammu provide participants with exposure to professional management concepts and skills relevant to the corporate and civilian employment sectors.
The successful conclusion of the programme highlights the continuing emphasis on professional development and post-service career preparedness for India’s military personnel.

जम्मू। डायरेक्टरेट जनरल रिसेटलमेंट (DGR) द्वारा प्रायोजित ऑपरेशनल मैनेजमेंट कोर्स का भारतीय प्रबंधन संस्थान (IIM) जम्मू में सफलतापूर्वक समापन हुआ। इस कार्यक्रम में भारतीय सेना और भारतीय वायुसेना के कुल 45 जूनियर कमीशंड ऑफिसर्स (JCOs) तथा अन्य रैंक के सैन्यकर्मियों (ORs) ने भाग लिया। इस पहल का मुख्य उद्देश्य सैन्यकर्मियों के प्रबंधन कौशल, नेतृत्व क्षमता और पेशेवर दक्षता को विकसित करना तथा उन्हें सैन्य सेवा के बाद दूसरे करियर के लिए तैयार करना था।
समापन समारोह के दौरान व्हाइट नाइट कोर के ब्रिगेडियर एच.एस. बिलिंग ने समापन संबोधन दिया। इस अवसर पर आईआईएम जम्मू के वरिष्ठ सलाहकार एवं चेयरपर्सन (हेल्थकेयर) लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल (सेवानिवृत्त) सुनील कांत, एसएम, वीएसएम भी मौजूद रहे।
यह प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम सैन्यकर्मियों को सैन्य सेवा के दौरान अर्जित अनुभव और नेतृत्व क्षमता का नागरिक एवं कॉर्पोरेट क्षेत्र में प्रभावी उपयोग करने के लिए तैयार करने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण है। सशस्त्र बलों में कार्यरत सैन्यकर्मी नेतृत्व, टीम प्रबंधन, परिचालन योजना, अनुशासन और निर्णय लेने जैसे क्षेत्रों में व्यापक अनुभव हासिल करते हैं। इन क्षमताओं को प्रबंधन संबंधी प्रशिक्षण के माध्यम से नागरिक क्षेत्र की आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप विकसित करना उनके भविष्य के करियर के लिए उपयोगी साबित हो सकता है।
डायरेक्टरेट जनरल रिसेटलमेंट सैन्य सेवा से जुड़े पात्र कर्मियों को सेवा के बाद रोजगार और करियर के अवसरों तक पहुंच बनाने में सहायता प्रदान करने की दिशा में काम करता है। आईआईएम जम्मू जैसे प्रतिष्ठित प्रबंधन संस्थानों के सहयोग से आयोजित प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम सैन्यकर्मियों को प्रबंधन की अवधारणाओं और पेशेवर कार्यप्रणाली से परिचित कराने में मदद करते हैं।
इस कोर्स का सफल समापन भारतीय सेना और वायुसेना के कर्मियों के कौशल विकास, नेतृत्व क्षमता को मजबूत करने और सैन्य सेवा के बाद बेहतर पेशेवर अवसरों के लिए उनकी तैयारी सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
