India-Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise Cyclone-III Concludes Successfully

Jaipur, 23 February 2025: The India-Egypt Joint Special Forces Exercise Cyclone-III culminated on 23 February 2025, marking the successful completion of 14 days of rigorous joint training. The exercise, aimed at enhancing interoperability and cooperation between the two nations’ elite forces, showcased their combat prowess, strategic coordination, and operational synergy.

A Platform for Tactical Excellence

The joint exercise provided an invaluable opportunity for the Special Forces of both countries to train together in Counter-Terrorism operations, Combat Medical skills, Demolition techniques, and Special Heliborne Operations (SHBO). The collaboration between the forces helped develop a better understanding of each other’s combat techniques, tactics, and procedures, fostering mutual trust and coordination.

Three Phases of Intensive Training

The Cyclone-III exercise was conducted in three phases, each focusing on specific combat skills and strategic maneuvers:

  • Phase One: The initial phase featured military exhibitions and tactical interactions between the contingents. Both teams engaged in discussions about their respective operational strategies and best practices, enhancing the knowledge-sharing process.
  • Phase Two: This phase concentrated on training modules including Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and Counter-IED techniques, fast-roping from helicopters, and combat first aid. The participants demonstrated remarkable skill and agility in executing these critical operations.
  • Phase Three: The final phase comprised a joint tactical exercise, focusing on simulated raid operations and hostage rescue scenarios. This phase tested the coordination, agility, and precision of both forces in handling high-intensity combat situations.

Indian Special Forces Showcase Tactical Superiority

Throughout the exercise, the Indian Special Forces displayed the highest standards of professional conduct, tactical acumen, and military discipline. Their impeccable execution of drills, swift adaptation to different operational environments, and strategic maneuvering were highly appreciated by the Egyptian Army. The joint training further reinforced India’s commitment to global counter-terrorism efforts and military cooperation.
