Indian Army Partners with Zoho Corporation to Accelerate Indigenous Digital Transformation

MoU aims to strengthen secure digital solutions, application-oriented R&D and technology-driven skill development in line with the Army’s JAI mission.

In a significant step towards advancing indigenous digital capabilities, the Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoho Corporation to accelerate its digital transformation efforts in alignment with the Army’s vision of JAI — Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Innovation.

The MoU was signed by Lieutenant General Harsh Chhibber, Director General Information Systems (DGIS), and Shri Rajendran Dandapani, Director of Engineering, Zoho Corporation, in the presence of Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and Shri Sridhar Vembu, Founder of Zoho Corporation.

The partnership seeks to foster application-oriented research and development, create secure and sustainable digital solutions, and enhance technology-focused skill sets among Army personnel. The initiative is expected to play a key role in supporting the Indian Army’s ongoing transformation into a future-ready and digitally empowered force.

Under the collaboration, both organisations will work towards developing indigenous technological solutions tailored to military requirements, while promoting innovation and self-reliance in critical digital domains. The partnership also aims to strengthen expertise in emerging technologies and build institutional capabilities to address future operational challenges.

Officials highlighted that the agreement aligns with the broader national objective of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, emphasising the importance of leveraging domestic technological expertise to enhance defence preparedness and operational effectiveness.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate the development of secure digital platforms and innovative applications that can improve efficiency, decision-making and organisational agility across various domains of military operations and administration.

General Upendra Dwivedi underscored the importance of embracing innovation and indigenous technological development as key enablers of military modernisation. The initiative reflects the Army’s commitment to harnessing the capabilities of India’s technology sector to build resilient and future-oriented digital ecosystems.

Zoho Corporation, one of India’s leading technology companies, brings extensive expertise in software development, cloud-based solutions and enterprise technology platforms. Its partnership with the Indian Army is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening indigenous digital capabilities and supporting long-term transformation goals.
