Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of the Battle Axe Division and Raptor Brigade at the Jaisalmer Military Station today.

The review reinforced the Army’s 2025 “Year of Reforms” initiative, with a strong push for integrating drones, AI-driven surveillance, and modern training systems. These “force multipliers” are seen as game-changers, with global studies suggesting up to a 30% rise in operational effectiveness when such systems are deployed.

Lt. Gen. Seth praised the rapid adoption of indigenous defence technologies, reflecting India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Since 2020, indigenous tech use in the armed forces has reportedly increased by nearly 30%, strengthening India’s strategic edge against regional threats like the 2020 border standoff with China.

Concluding his review, the Army Commander urged troops to maintain high readiness levels, stressing that innovation, self-reliance, and modernization are the keys to staying ahead of adversaries.
