India’s Anti-Drone Shield on Rajasthan Border: Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Jaisalmer Become the Frontline, DRDO’s D4 System, Jamming Guns, and ‘Anti Drone Gun’ to Crush Pakistan’s Every Move

India’s western border in Rajasthan, long plagued by Pakistan-sponsored drug trafficking and drone incursions, has now been fortified with the country’s most advanced anti-drone technologies. With Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, and Jaisalmer at the core, India has deployed DRDO-developed D4 (Drone Detect, Deter, Destroy) systems, drone jamming guns, and the cutting-edge ‘Antim Drone Gun.’ This move is not just a security measure but part of a long-term strategy to neutralize every aerial threat across the border.
Over the past few years, this region has become the prime target of Pakistan’s drone operations. From heroin drops under the cover of night to weapons consignments and even surveillance of Indian military posts—every incident has underscored that Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Jaisalmer are no longer just border districts, but the primary targets of Pakistan’s ‘drone war strategy.’ According to the BSF, heroin worth over ₹500 crore is seized annually in these districts, but this represents only a fraction of the larger game. The actual inflow is far higher, and whatever escapes seizure continues to reach Indian society and youth. This prompted New Delhi to secure these three sectors first under a high-tech anti-drone shield.
At the heart of this strategy is DRDO and Bharat Electronics Limited’s D4 Anti-Drone System. Defence analyst Sahil notes that the system is known for its 360-degree coverage, radar network, radio frequency detection, and laser-based directed energy weapons. It can detect and neutralize micro and mini drones flying 4 to 8 km away. D4 offers both “soft kill” and “hard kill” options. In the soft kill mode, it hijacks drones through radio frequency jamming and GPS spoofing. In the hard kill mode, its laser beam burns drones mid-air. During Operation Sindoor in May 2025, this very system destroyed over 600 Turkish and Chinese-origin drones sent from Pakistan. Following its success, the D4 has now been permanently deployed along the Rajasthan border.
But the D4 is only one layer of India’s multi-tiered defence plan. In Sri Ganganagar, portable drone jamming guns have been introduced on an experimental basis. These lightweight, rifle-like devices with directional antennas can be slung over a soldier’s shoulder and used anywhere. Within just 10 seconds, they can jam a drone’s frequency up to 2.5 km away, causing it to lose balance and crash. The BSF believes this weapon will deal a major blow to drug trafficking, as most small drones are used to drop heroin.
Another recent DRDO innovation, the ‘Antim Drone Gun’, symbolizes the final word in counter-drone warfare. Specially designed to defeat drone swarm attacks—where dozens or hundreds of drones are unleashed simultaneously—it uses AI-based command-and-control systems and millimeter-wave radars to even detect drones operating without radio signals. Currently deployed on a trial basis in Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Jaisalmer, it is expected to be scaled up after successful trials.
To operate these sophisticated systems, the Indian Army is training BSF personnel in specialized modules. While BSF has vast experience in border patrols and anti-smuggling operations, combating high-tech drones requires military expertise. Joint training ensures that every forward post will soon have personnel capable of operating the D4 and drone jamming guns effectively.
At the grassroots level, these deployments are restoring public confidence. Villages in Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Jaisalmer had long lived in fear of drones crashing nearby, sometimes dropping heroin consignments directly into settlements and dragging youth into addiction. After witnessing the D4 shoot down drones in the sky and jamming guns bring them crashing to the ground, villagers now feel the border is safer than ever before.
Strategically, this is more than border defence. It is a message to the world: future wars will not be fought only with tanks and rifles but with drones and counter-drone technologies. And in this domain, India is achieving self-reliance under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Unlike Pakistan, which relies on Chinese and Turkish technologies, India has indigenously developed and deployed its own systems.
The road ahead is equally clear. The Ministry of Defence has indicated that the D4 system will be upgraded further to enhance range and accuracy. Drone jamming guns will be deployed across Punjab, Jammu, and Rajasthan. And once trials of the Antim Drone Gun are complete, it will be mass-produced and installed in every sensitive border zone. Slowly, India’s western border will transform into a ‘No-Drone Zone’, where no Pakistani conspiracy will succeed.
The conclusion is clear: Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Jaisalmer have become India’s strongest defensive shield. This deployment is not just a military move but a strategic declaration that India will confront every new challenge on its own terms. Pakistan’s drone conspiracies will now crash on the desert sands, while Rajasthan’s frontier emerges as India’s most advanced security laboratory for the future.

राजस्थान की पश्चिमी सीमा, जो अब तक पाकिस्तान से होने वाली नशा तस्करी और ड्रोन घुसपैठ की सबसे बड़ी रणभूमि बन चुकी है, अब भारत की सबसे उन्नत एंटी-ड्रोन तकनीकों से लैस हो गई है। बीकानेर, श्रीगंगानगर और जैसलमेर जिलों को केंद्र में रखकर भारत ने यहां डीआरडीओ के विकसित किए हुए डी4 (ड्रोन डिटेक्ट, डिटर, डिस्ट्रॉय) एंटी-ड्रोन सिस्टम, ड्रोन जैमिंग गन, और नवीनतम ‘अंतिम ड्रोन गण’ को तैनात किया है। यह कदम केवल सुरक्षा उपाय नहीं बल्कि भारत की दीर्घकालिक रणनीति का हिस्सा है, जिसके जरिए सीमा पर हो रहे हर प्रकार के हवाई खतरे को निष्प्रभावी किया जाएगा।
बीते कुछ वर्षों में राजस्थान का यह इलाका पाकिस्तान से भेजे जा रहे ड्रोन का सबसे बड़ा निशाना बना। कभी रात के अंधेरे में ड्रोन से गिराई गई हेरोइन की खेप, कभी हथियार और गोला-बारूद, और कई बार भारतीय सीमा के सैन्य ठिकानों की टोह लेने की कोशिशें – इन सभी घटनाओं ने साबित किया कि बीकानेर, गंगानगर और जैसलमेर अब केवल सीमा नहीं बल्कि पाकिस्तान की ‘ड्रोन वॉर स्ट्रैटेजी’ का पहला टारगेट हैं। बीएसएफ के अनुसार, इन जिलों में हर साल लगभग 500 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की हेरोइन जब्त होती है, परन्तु यह केवल उस खेल का एक छोटा हिस्सा है जो पाकिस्तान के ड्रोन नेटवर्क के जरिए चलाया जा रहा है। असल आंकड़े कहीं बड़े हैं और जितना नशा पकड़ा जाता है, उससे कहीं ज्यादा भारतीय समाज और युवाओं तक पहुँच भी जाता है। यही वजह है कि भारत ने इन तीन सेक्टरों को सबसे पहले हाई-टेक एंटी-ड्रोन ढाल से सुरक्षित करने का निर्णय लिया।
डीआरडीओ और भारत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स लिमिटेड (बीईएल) द्वारा तैयार किया गया डी4 एंटी-ड्रोन सिस्टम इस रणनीति का केंद्र है। रक्षा संवाददाता विशेषज्ञ साहिल के अनुसार यह प्रणाली अपनी 360 डिग्री कवरेज, रडार नेटवर्क, रेडियो फ्रीक्वेंसी डिटेक्शन और लेजर-आधारित डायरेक्टेड एनर्जी वेपन्स के लिए जानी जाती है। यह सिस्टम 4 से 8 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर उड़ रहे माइक्रो और मिनी ड्रोनों का पता लगाने और उन्हें तुरंत निष्क्रिय करने की क्षमता रखता है। डी4 के पास “सॉफ्ट किल” और “हार्ड किल” दोनों विकल्प हैं। सॉफ्ट किल मोड में यह रेडियो फ्रीक्वेंसी जैमिंग और जीपीएस स्पूफिंग से ड्रोन का नियंत्रण छीन लेता है, जबकि हार्ड किल मोड में यह लेजर बीम के जरिए ड्रोन को हवा में ही जला कर गिरा देता है। मई 2025 में हुए ऑपरेशन सिंदूर में इसी डी4 सिस्टम ने पाकिस्तान से भेजे गए तुर्की और चीनी मूल के 600 से अधिक ड्रोन को नष्ट किया था, और उस सफलता के बाद इसे अब राजस्थान सीमा पर स्थायी रूप से तैनात किया गया है।
लेकिन केवल डी4 सिस्टम ही नहीं, भारत ने सीमा सुरक्षा के लिए बहु-स्तरीय रणनीति बनाई है। श्रीगंगानगर सेक्टर में प्रायोगिक तौर पर तैनात की गई ड्रोन जैमिंग पोर्टेबल गन इसका अगला चरण है। यह गन अपने आप में अत्यंत आधुनिक और हल्की है, जिसे जवान कंधे पर टांग कर किसी भी स्थान पर इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं। इसमें राइफल जैसी संरचना और पॉइंट-एंड-शूट वाला दिशात्मक एंटेना है। इसकी विशेषता यह है कि यह ड्रोन की फ्रीक्वेंसी को 2.5 किलोमीटर की दूरी तक केवल 10 सेकंड में जाम कर देती है। जैसे ही ड्रोन की फ्रीक्वेंसी जाम होती है, उसका संतुलन बिगड़ता है और वह वहीं जमीन पर गिर पड़ता है। बीएसएफ को उम्मीद है कि इस गन से विशेषकर हेरोइन तस्करी पर सबसे बड़ा प्रहार होगा, क्योंकि अधिकांश छोटे ड्रोन नशा गिराने के लिए ही भेजे जाते हैं।
डीआरडीओ ने हाल ही में एक और उन्नत तकनीक विकसित की है – ‘अंतिम ड्रोन गण’। इसका नाम ही इस बात का प्रतीक है कि यह प्रणाली किसी भी प्रकार के ड्रोन हमले का आखिरी और निर्णायक जवाब होगी। इसे खासतौर पर ड्रोन स्वार्म अटैक को रोकने के लिए डिजाइन किया गया है। ड्रोन स्वार्म यानी जब एक साथ दर्जनों या सैकड़ों छोटे ड्रोन दुश्मन की तरफ से छोड़े जाएं और वे मिलकर हमला करें। पारंपरिक एंटी-ड्रोन सिस्टम्स के लिए यह सबसे बड़ी चुनौती मानी जाती है। लेकिन अंतिम ड्रोन गण में एआई-आधारित कमांड-एंड-कंट्रोल सिस्टम और मिलीमीटर-वेव रडार लगे हैं, जिनकी मदद से यह बिना रेडियो सिग्नल वाले ड्रोनों का भी पता लगा सकता है। अभी इसे बीकानेर, गंगानगर और जैसलमेर में प्रायोगिक रूप से लगाया गया है और आने वाले महीनों में इसके सफल ट्रायल के बाद इसे बड़े पैमाने पर तैनात किया जाएगा।
इन सभी हाई-टेक हथियारों को चलाने और उनकी निगरानी रखने के लिए भारतीय सेना बीएसएफ जवानों को विशेष प्रशिक्षण दे रही है। बीएसएफ को अब तक सीमाओं पर गश्त, नशा विरोधी अभियान और तस्करी रोकने का अनुभव है, लेकिन हाई-टेक ड्रोन तकनीक के खिलाफ ऑपरेशन के लिए सेना का अनुभव बेहद अहम है। यही कारण है कि सेना और बीएसएफ मिलकर संयुक्त रूप से प्रशिक्षण मॉड्यूल तैयार कर रहे हैं। आने वाले समय में बीएसएफ की हर अग्रिम चौकी पर ऐसे जवान मौजूद होंगे जो डी4 सिस्टम और ड्रोन जैमिंग गन को ऑपरेट कर सकेंगे।
स्थानीय स्तर पर भी इन कदमों का बड़ा असर है। बीकानेर, गंगानगर और जैसलमेर के गांव लंबे समय से ड्रोन गिरने की घटनाओं से दहशत में रहते थे। कई बार नशे की खेप सीधे गांवों में गिरी, जिससे युवा नशे की गिरफ्त में आने लगे। गांव के बुजुर्गों और सरपंचों ने कई बार बीएसएफ और प्रशासन से गुहार लगाई कि पाकिस्तान से आने वाले इन खतरों को रोका जाए। अब जब गांवों ने अपनी आंखों से डी4 सिस्टम को आसमान में ड्रोन गिराते देखा है, जब जैमिंग गन ने पहली बार तस्करों के ड्रोन को जमीन पर गिराया है, तो लोगों के दिलों में भी यह विश्वास बैठ रहा है कि सीमा अब पहले से कहीं ज्यादा सुरक्षित है।
रणनीतिक दृष्टि से यह तैनाती केवल सीमावर्ती सुरक्षा भर नहीं है। यह भारत का दुनिया को दिया गया संदेश है कि आने वाले समय का युद्ध अब केवल बंदूक और टैंक का युद्ध नहीं होगा, बल्कि ड्रोन और एंटी-ड्रोन तकनीकों पर आधारित होगा। और इस क्षेत्र में भारत अब पूरी तरह ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ के तहत आत्मनिर्भर बन रहा है। डी4 सिस्टम, ड्रोन जैमिंग गन और अंतिम ड्रोन गण – ये तीनों तकनीकें पूरी तरह स्वदेशी हैं। पाकिस्तान जिस तकनीक के लिए चीन और तुर्की पर निर्भर है, भारत ने वही तकनीक अपने दम पर विकसित कर ली है और अब उसे सीमा पर तैनात भी कर दिया है।
भविष्य की राह भी साफ है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने संकेत दिए हैं कि आने वाले समय में डी4 सिस्टम को और अपग्रेड किया जाएगा ताकि इसकी रेंज और सटीकता और बढ़ सके। ड्रोन जैमिंग गन को पंजाब और जम्मू के साथ-साथ पूरे राजस्थान में तैनात किया जाएगा। अंतिम ड्रोन गण के ट्रायल सफल होने पर इसे बड़े पैमाने पर उत्पादित किया जाएगा और सीमा के हर संवेदनशील इलाके में लगाया जाएगा। इस तरह, भारत की पश्चिमी सीमा अब धीरे-धीरे एक ऐसी ‘नो-ड्रोन ज़ोन’ बन जाएगी, जहां से पाकिस्तान की कोई भी साजिश कामयाब नहीं होगी।
निष्कर्ष साफ है – बीकानेर, गंगानगर और जैसलमेर अब भारत की सुरक्षा नीति का सबसे मजबूत ढाल बन चुके हैं। यह तैनाती केवल एक सैन्य कदम नहीं बल्कि एक रणनीतिक संदेश भी है कि भारत अब हर नई चुनौती का मुकाबला अपने दम पर करेगा। पाकिस्तान की ड्रोन साजिशें अब केवल सीमा पर गिरकर खत्म होंगी और भारत के लिए राजस्थान की रेतीली धरती आने वाले कल की सबसे मजबूत सुरक्षा प्रयोगशाला के रूप में पहचानी जाएगी।
