IWC Bikaner Brings Light to Lives: Sponsors Cataract Surgeries for 5 Patients at Acharya Nanesh Eye Hospital

In a remarkable act of compassion and community service, the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) Bikaner extended its support to patients suffering from preventable blindness by sponsoring cataract surgeries at Acharya Nanesh Eye Hospital. The project was undertaken under the theme “Reach Out for a Better World – Health and Family Welfare”, reflecting the club’s dedication to healthcare access for the underprivileged.
The eye camp, organised on 24th August 2025, saw 20 patients undergoing cataract surgery. Out of these, IWC Bikaner took responsibility for 5 patients, ensuring their complete treatment — from surgery to postoperative care.
Restoring Vision, Restoring Dignity
Cataract, one of the leading causes of blindness in India, is particularly common among elderly and economically weaker communities. For many, the cost of surgery, postoperative medication, and spectacles becomes a burden too heavy to bear.
By sponsoring surgeries for five patients, IWC Bikaner not only restored their eyesight but also their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Post-surgery, patients were provided with spectacles and necessary medicines, ensuring holistic care.
The patients, who had been struggling with blurred vision and dependence on family members for daily tasks, expressed overwhelming gratitude. Their joy was evident as they shared how regaining vision meant regaining life itself.
Compassion in Action
The initiative was coordinated under the guidance of C.C. Dr. Savita Singhal, who highlighted the significance of such projects in bridging the healthcare gap for marginalized communities.
“Cataract blindness is curable, but the cost of surgery often prevents patients from seeking treatment. By sponsoring these surgeries, we have not just restored vision but given back hope and independence,” Dr. Singhal said.
The sponsorship amount was handed over to the Rotary Bandhu, who supervises the hospital in collaboration with the Hospital Management Authorities, ensuring transparency and proper utilization of funds.
Impact Beyond Healthcare
This initiative is not just about eye care — it is about creating a brighter future. By restoring vision, IWC Bikaner has empowered individuals to return to work, contribute to their families, and live with confidence.
The project is a shining example of how community organisations can play a pivotal role in public health, complementing government and private healthcare services.

आईडब्ल्यूसी बीकानेर ने लौटाई रोशनी: आचार्य ननेश आई हॉस्पिटल में 5 मरीजों की कराई मोतियाबिंद सर्जरी

मानवता और सेवा का अद्भुत उदाहरण पेश करते हुए इनर व्हील क्लब (आईडब्ल्यूसी) बीकानेर ने जरूरतमंद मरीजों की मदद के लिए आचार्य ननेश आई हॉस्पिटल में आयोजित नेत्र शिविर में सक्रिय भागीदारी की। “रीच आउट फॉर ए बेटर वर्ल्ड – स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण” श्रेणी के अंतर्गत आयोजित इस सेवा कार्य ने उन लोगों के जीवन में नई रोशनी भर दी जो लंबे समय से मोतियाबिंद की समस्या से जूझ रहे थे।
24 अगस्त 2025 को आयोजित इस शिविर में 20 मरीजों की मोतियाबिंद सर्जरी की गई, जिनमें से 5 मरीजों की सर्जरी का पूरा खर्च आईडब्ल्यूसी बीकानेर ने वहन किया।
दृष्टि की वापसी, जीवन की वापसी
भारत में अंधत्व का एक प्रमुख कारण मोतियाबिंद है। गरीब और ग्रामीण वर्ग के लिए सर्जरी, दवाइयों और चश्मे का खर्च बड़ा बोझ बन जाता है। आईडब्ल्यूसी बीकानेर ने ऐसे ही 5 मरीजों का सहारा बनकर न केवल उनकी आंखों की रोशनी लौटाई, बल्कि उन्हें आत्मनिर्भरता और जीवन का आत्मविश्वास भी वापस दिया।
सर्जरी के बाद मरीजों को दवाइयां और चश्मे उपलब्ध कराए गए ताकि उन्हें संपूर्ण उपचार का लाभ मिल सके। अपने अनुभव साझा करते हुए मरीजों ने कहा कि “यह सिर्फ आंखों की रोशनी लौटना नहीं है, बल्कि जीवन में नई ऊर्जा का संचार है।”
सेवा का मानवीय चेहरा
इस पहल का नेतृत्व सी.सी. डॉ. सविता सिंघल ने किया। उन्होंने कहा – “मोतियाबिंद अंधत्व का इलाज संभव है, लेकिन आर्थिक बोझ इसकी सबसे बड़ी बाधा है। इन मरीजों की सर्जरी कराकर हमने न केवल दृष्टि लौटाई, बल्कि उम्मीद भी लौटाई।”
इन सर्जरियों की राशि रोटरी बंधु को सौंपी गई, जो अस्पताल के प्रबंधन के साथ मिलकर कार्य करते हैं। इस प्रक्रिया ने पारदर्शिता और सही उपयोग सुनिश्चित किया।
रोशनी से भरा भविष्य
यह परियोजना सिर्फ नेत्र स्वास्थ्य की पहल नहीं, बल्कि भविष्य को उज्ज्वल बनाने की दिशा में एक कदम है। रोशनी लौटाकर आईडब्ल्यूसी बीकानेर ने इन मरीजों को फिर से जीवन जीने और अपने परिवार का सहारा बनने की ताकत दी है।
आईडब्ल्यूसी बीकानेर का यह कदम सेवा नेतृत्व का जीवंत उदाहरण है और यह दर्शाता है कि दोस्ती, सेवा और करुणा ही समाज को बेहतर बना सकते हैं।
