Joint Security Operations in Manipur Lead to Apprehension of Militants and Seizure of Arms Cache

In a massive crackdown on insurgent activities in Manipur, joint operations by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, in close coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, led to the apprehension of six militants and the recovery of a large cache of weapons, explosives, and war-like stores. These coordinated operations were conducted between April 4 and April 5 across multiple hill and valley districts, including Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, Bishnupur, and Churachandpur.
Targeted Intelligence-Based Operations
These joint operations were driven by actionable intelligence and were executed with precision across insurgency-affected pockets of Manipur. In Imphal East’s Karpur Sangha, the Army and Manipur Police successfully apprehended two active cadres and seized a pistol. The synergy between the armed forces and local law enforcement ensured swift and coordinated execution.
In Bishnupur district’s Chandpur region, on April 4, security forces recovered four firearms, including a Self Loading Rifle (SLR), a carbine, a .303 rifle, and a double-barrel rifle along with ammunition and war-like stores. In a separate raid at Khongam Pat in Imphal West, more arms were seized, including one SLR, one .303 rifle, one gun fitted with a telescopic sight, a 0.177 calibre gun, two pistols, and a substantial quantity of ammunition.
Major Recoveries in Ngariyan Hills and Churachandpur
One of the most significant recoveries came from Ngariyan Hill in Imphal East district, where a carbine, four pistols, a .22 rifle, a 12 bore single barrel rifle, two more single bore barrel rifles, grenades, and other military-grade items were confiscated by the forces. This highlights the extent of insurgent armament spread across remote terrains.
In Kakching’s Khongjom Khebaching area, the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police apprehended two more cadres and recovered pistols and ammunition. Meanwhile, in Churachandpur district’s D Vaison area, another two militants were apprehended.
Peacekeeping and Stability: The Strategic Goal
All apprehended individuals, along with the recovered arms and ammunition, were handed over to the Manipur Police for further legal proceedings and interrogation. These operations are a part of a larger and sustained strategy to root out militant networks, dismantle illegal arms caches, and restore peace and normalcy in the northeastern state.
The joint operational synergy between the armed forces and state agencies is a testament to the tireless commitment of India’s security apparatus in countering insurgency and ensuring internal stability in vulnerable regions. मणिपुर में उग्रवाद के खिलाफ एक सशक्त अभियान के तहत भारतीय सेना और असम राइफल्स ने मणिपुर पुलिस, सीआरपीएफ, बीएसएफ और आईटीबीपी के साथ मिलकर व्यापक संयुक्त कार्रवाई को अंजाम दिया। 4 और 5 अप्रैल के बीच राज्य के इम्फाल पश्चिम, काकचिंग, इम्फाल पूर्व, चुराचांदपुर और विष्णुपुर जिलों में चलाए गए इन अभियानों के दौरान छह उग्रवादियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया और 22 से अधिक हथियार, ग्रेनेड, भारी मात्रा में गोलाबारूद और युद्ध सामग्री बरामद की गई।
सूचना-आधारित सटीक कार्रवाई
यह अभियान खुफिया जानकारी पर आधारित था, जिसे सुरक्षा बलों ने कुशलतापूर्वक अंजाम दिया। इम्फाल ईस्ट जिले के कर्पूर संघा क्षेत्र से सेना और मणिपुर पुलिस की टीम ने दो सक्रिय उग्रवादियों को गिरफ्तार कर उनके पास से एक पिस्तौल बरामद की। इस कार्रवाई में स्थानीय पुलिस और सेना के बीच तालमेल की मिसाल देखने को मिली।
बिष्णुपुर जिले के चंदपुर क्षेत्र में सुरक्षा बलों ने एक स्व-लोडिंग राइफल (SLR), एक कार्बाइन, एक .303 राइफल और एक डबल बैरल राइफल के साथ-साथ गोला-बारूद और युद्ध सामग्री बरामद की। वहीं इम्फाल वेस्ट के खोंगम पाट क्षेत्र से एक SLR, एक .303 राइफल, एक टेलीस्कोपिक साइट लगी बंदूक, एक 0.177 कैलिबर बंदूक, दो पिस्तौल और भारी मात्रा में कारतूस बरामद किए गए।
नगरीयान हिल्स और चुराचांदपुर में बड़ी जब्ती
इम्फाल ईस्ट के नगरीयान हिल्स क्षेत्र से भी भारी मात्रा में हथियार मिले, जिनमें एक कार्बाइन, चार पिस्तौल, एक .22 राइफल, एक 12 बोर सिंगल बैरल राइफल और दो अन्य सिंगल बैरल राइफल शामिल हैं। साथ ही कई ग्रेनेड और अन्य युद्ध सामग्री भी बरामद हुई, जिससे साफ होता है कि इन दूरदराज के इलाकों में उग्रवादियों की मौजूदगी संगठित और खतरनाक रूप ले रही थी।
काकचिंग जिले के खोंगजम खेबाचिंग में असम राइफल्स और मणिपुर पुलिस ने दो और उग्रवादियों को गिरफ्तार किया और उनके पास से पिस्तौल, कारतूस और अन्य सामग्री बरामद की। चुराचांदपुर जिले के डी वाइसन क्षेत्र से भी दो उग्रवादी गिरफ्तार किए गए।
शांति और स्थिरता की दिशा में मजबूत कदम
गिरफ्तार सभी उग्रवादियों और जब्त की गई सामग्री को आगे की जांच और कार्रवाई के लिए मणिपुर पुलिस के हवाले कर दिया गया है। यह कार्रवाई राज्य में शांति बहाली और उग्रवादी नेटवर्क को समाप्त करने के उद्देश्य से चलाए जा रहे व्यापक प्रयासों का हिस्सा है।
