Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Reviews Indigenous Defence Manufacturing Capabilities at NIBE Ltd, Pune

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth also reviewed a range of strategic equipment and weapon systems developed indigenously by NIBE Ltd.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, visited the defence manufacturing facility of NIBE Ltd at Chakan near Pune to review the company’s indigenous design, manufacturing, and system integration capabilities.

During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with the leadership and technical teams of NIBE Ltd and was briefed on the advanced infrastructure supporting precision cutting, automated welding, vertical machining, computer numerical control machining, and large structural assembly lines. These capabilities enable the production of complex, mission-critical components for launcher assemblies, structural sub-systems, and other advanced defence applications.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth also reviewed a range of strategic equipment and weapon systems developed indigenously by NIBE Ltd, highlighting India’s growing competence in niche defence technologies and the increasing role of private industry in strengthening national defence preparedness.

The visit underscored the deepening synergy between the Indian Army and India’s defence industry in advancing indigenous capability development. It reaffirmed the shared commitment towards the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the long-term goal of building a robust, self-reliant defence ecosystem in line with Viksit Bharat 2047.
