Lt Gen N S Sarna Visits Selection Centre East, Praises Infrastructure Upgrades
Senior officer lauds candidate-friendly facilities at Prayagraj centre as key to strengthening SSB selection process.
Lieutenant General N S Sarna, Commandant of the School of Artillery and former Director General Recruiting, visited Selection Centre East (SCE) in Prayagraj on May 7, 2026, to review its functioning and infrastructure.
During the visit, Major General D R Rai, Commandant SCE, briefed him on the detailed selection procedures followed at the Services Selection Board (SSB), including psychological assessments, group testing, and interview processes for candidates aspiring to become commissioned officers.
Lt Gen Sarna also inspected the recently upgraded technical and administrative infrastructure at the centre, focusing on improvements aimed at enhancing candidate experience and operational efficiency.

He appreciated the candidate-friendly infrastructure upgrades, describing them as key enablers in strengthening the officer selection process and ensuring a fair, transparent, and efficient evaluation system.

The visit underscored the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on refining selection mechanisms and maintaining high standards in identifying future military leaders.
