Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Hands Over Command of Kharga Corps to Lt Gen Manish Luthra After Distinguished Tenure Marked by Operational Excellence and Transformation
The Indian Army witnessed a significant leadership transition as Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, formally handed over the command of the prestigious Kharga Corps to Lieutenant General Manish Luthra, AVSM after completing an accomplished tenure that was widely recognized for operational excellence, transformational leadership, and an unwavering commitment to enhancing combat preparedness and troop welfare.
The change of command marks the beginning of a new chapter for one of the Indian Army’s most respected strike formations. During Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar’s tenure, the Corps continued to strengthen its operational readiness while simultaneously embracing modernization and technological transformation in line with the Indian Army’s vision of becoming a future-ready, technology-driven force capable of responding to evolving security challenges across multiple domains.
Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar leaves behind a legacy of professional military leadership that emphasized high operational standards, realistic combat training, infrastructure development, force modernization, and the welfare of soldiers and their families. One of the defining moments of his command came during Operation SINDOOR, when the Kharga Corps played a significant operational role. The Corps demonstrated exceptional professionalism, rapid response capability, and coordinated execution of military objectives while maintaining the highest standards of operational preparedness. The experience gained during the operation further strengthened the Corps’ readiness for future contingencies and reaffirmed its reputation as one of the Indian Army’s premier operational formations.
Under Lt Gen Pushkar’s leadership, the Corps accelerated its transformation into a future-ready, multi-domain force capable of operating seamlessly across conventional, hybrid, technological, and information-centric battlefields. Continuous emphasis was placed on jointness, integration of advanced military technologies, enhanced surveillance capabilities, precision operations, battlefield digitization, and adaptive operational planning.

Numerous initiatives were undertaken to improve living conditions, enhance training infrastructure, promote physical and mental well-being, strengthen family support systems, and recognize the outstanding contributions of soldiers serving in demanding operational environments. As Lt Gen Manish Luthra, AVSM, assumes command of the Kharga Corps, expectations remain high that the Corps will continue its journey of modernization while maintaining its exceptional standards of operational readiness. लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजेश पुष्कर ने खड़गा कोर की कमान लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनीष लूथरा को सौंपी, ऑपरेशनल उत्कृष्टता और आधुनिक सैन्य परिवर्तन से भरा रहा कार्यकाल
भारतीय सेना में एक महत्वपूर्ण नेतृत्व परिवर्तन के तहत लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजेश पुष्कर, एवीएसएम, वीएसएम ने प्रतिष्ठित खड़गा कोर की कमान औपचारिक रूप से लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनीष लूथरा, एवीएसएम को सौंप दी। उनका कार्यकाल ऑपरेशनल उत्कृष्टता, परिवर्तनकारी नेतृत्व, सैनिकों के कल्याण तथा युद्धक तैयारी को नई ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचाने के लिए लंबे समय तक याद किया जाएगा।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजेश पुष्कर के नेतृत्व में खड़गा कोर ने न केवल अपनी पारंपरिक युद्ध क्षमता को और अधिक मजबूत किया बल्कि बदलते युद्धक्षेत्र की आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप स्वयं को आधुनिक, तकनीक-सक्षम और बहु-आयामी सैन्य शक्ति के रूप में विकसित करने की दिशा में उल्लेखनीय प्रगति भी की। उनके नेतृत्व में सेना ने भविष्य के युद्धों की चुनौतियों को ध्यान में रखते हुए आधुनिक तकनीकों, डिजिटल युद्ध प्रणाली, कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक युद्ध, ड्रोन संचालन तथा संयुक्त सैन्य अभियानों पर विशेष ध्यान दिया।
उनके कार्यकाल की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धियों में ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के दौरान खड़गा कोर की प्रभावी भूमिका रही। इस अभियान के दौरान कोर ने उच्च स्तर की ऑपरेशनल तैयारी, तीव्र प्रतिक्रिया क्षमता, उत्कृष्ट समन्वय तथा पेशेवर सैन्य दक्षता का प्रदर्शन किया। इस अभियान से प्राप्त अनुभवों ने कोर की युद्धक क्षमता को और अधिक मजबूत बनाया तथा भविष्य के किसी भी सैन्य परिदृश्य के लिए उसकी तैयारी को नई मजबूती प्रदान की।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल पुष्कर ने अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान केवल सैन्य अभियानों पर ही नहीं बल्कि सैनिकों और उनके परिवारों के कल्याण पर भी विशेष बल दिया। आवासीय सुविधाओं में सुधार, प्रशिक्षण अवसंरचना का विस्तार, सैनिकों के मानसिक एवं शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य, परिवार कल्याण योजनाओं तथा जवानों के मनोबल को मजबूत करने के लिए अनेक पहल की गईं। यही कारण रहा कि वे सभी रैंकों के बीच एक प्रेरणादायी और संवेदनशील सैन्य नेता के रूप में सम्मानित रहे।
उनके नेतृत्व में खड़गा कोर ने स्वयं को एक भविष्य के युद्धक्षेत्र के अनुरूप बहु-आयामी (Multi-Domain) सैन्य बल के रूप में विकसित करने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाए। आधुनिक निगरानी प्रणालियों, उन्नत संचार नेटवर्क, संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास, उच्च स्तरीय युद्ध प्रशिक्षण, तकनीकी नवाचार तथा आत्मनिर्भर भारत के रक्षा दृष्टिकोण के अनुरूप नई क्षमताओं के विकास पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया।
अब लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनीष लूथरा, एवीएसएम, खड़गा कोर की कमान संभालेंगे। उनसे अपेक्षा की जा रही है कि वे अपने व्यापक सैन्य अनुभव और नेतृत्व क्षमता के आधार पर कोर की आधुनिकीकरण यात्रा को और आगे बढ़ाएंगे तथा भारतीय सेना की भविष्य उन्मुख युद्धक रणनीतियों के अनुरूप इसकी परिचालन क्षमता को नई ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचाएंगे।
