Maj Gen Sarabjit Singh Bakshi Visits IAF Maintenance Command, Reinforces NCC–Indian Air Force Partnership
Nagpur: In a significant step towards enhancing cooperation between the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the Indian Air Force (IAF), Major General Sarabjit Singh Bakshi, SM, VSM, Commandant of the NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, visited the Maintenance Command of the Indian Air Force at Nagpur. During the visit, he called on Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Pan, AVSM, VSM, Senior Maintenance Staff Officer (SMSO), Maintenance Command.
The high-level interaction provided an important platform for exchanging views on matters of mutual interest and reaffirming the longstanding institutional relationship between the NCC and the Indian Air Force. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in officer training, leadership development, youth motivation, and enhancing exposure of NCC cadets to the professionalism and operational ethos of the IAF.
Major General Bakshi and Air Marshal Pan emphasized the importance of continuous engagement between military training institutions and operational commands. Such interactions play a crucial role in promoting the exchange of best practices, institutional knowledge, and innovative training methodologies, ultimately benefiting Associate NCC Officers and cadets across the country.
The visit also enabled the NCC delegation to gain valuable insights into the functioning of the Indian Air Force’s Maintenance Command, one of the service’s most vital operational support formations. Headquartered in Nagpur, the command is responsible for the maintenance, repair, overhaul, logistics support, and sustained serviceability of aircraft, weapon systems, radars, and critical military equipment, ensuring the Indian Air Force remains mission-ready at all times.
Both senior officers reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger institutional cooperation aimed at developing disciplined, motivated, and nationally conscious youth. The interaction highlighted the shared vision of preparing future leaders while inspiring more young Indians to pursue careers in the Armed Forces through the NCC.
The visit reflects the enduring partnership between the NCC and the Indian Air Force and underscores their collective commitment to national development, military preparedness, leadership excellence, professionalism, patriotism, and nation-building.

नागपुर: राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर (NCC) और भारतीय वायुसेना (IAF) के बीच संस्थागत सहयोग को और अधिक सशक्त बनाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल के तहत एनसीसी ऑफिसर्स ट्रेनिंग अकादमी (OTA), कामठी के कमांडेंट मेजर जनरल सरबजीत सिंह बख्शी, SM, VSM ने नागपुर स्थित भारतीय वायुसेना के मेंटेनेंस कमांड का दौरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने मेंटेनेंस कमांड के सीनियर मेंटेनेंस स्टाफ ऑफिसर (SMSO) एयर मार्शल अजय कुमार पान, AVSM, VSM से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।
इस उच्चस्तरीय मुलाकात के दौरान दोनों वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने आपसी हितों से जुड़े विभिन्न विषयों पर विस्तृत विचार-विमर्श किया। चर्चा का मुख्य उद्देश्य एनसीसी और भारतीय वायुसेना के बीच दशकों पुराने संबंधों को और मजबूत बनाना, प्रशिक्षण सहयोग बढ़ाना, नेतृत्व विकास को प्रोत्साहित करना तथा युवाओं को सैन्य सेवाओं के प्रति प्रेरित करने के नए आयामों पर विचार करना था।
बैठक में इस बात पर विशेष बल दिया गया कि सैन्य प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों और परिचालन कमांडों के बीच नियमित संवाद एवं सहयोग से न केवल प्रशिक्षण की गुणवत्ता में सुधार होता है, बल्कि सर्वोत्तम कार्यप्रणालियों, अनुभवों और संस्थागत ज्ञान का भी आदान-प्रदान होता है। इससे एनसीसी कैडेटों तथा एसोसिएट एनसीसी अधिकारियों को अधिक प्रभावी और व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण उपलब्ध कराया जा सकता है।
दौरे के दौरान मेजर जनरल बख्शी ने भारतीय वायुसेना के मेंटेनेंस कमांड की कार्यप्रणाली और उसकी रणनीतिक भूमिका की भी जानकारी प्राप्त की। नागपुर मुख्यालय वाला यह कमांड भारतीय वायुसेना के विमानों, हेलीकॉप्टरों, हथियार प्रणालियों, रडार, उपकरणों तथा अन्य महत्वपूर्ण सैन्य संसाधनों के रखरखाव, मरम्मत, ओवरहॉल और लॉजिस्टिक सहायता का दायित्व निभाता है। यही कमांड सुनिश्चित करता है कि भारतीय वायुसेना का प्रत्येक प्लेटफॉर्म हर समय परिचालन के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार रहे।
दोनों वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने अनुशासन, नेतृत्व, राष्ट्रभक्ति और सेवा की भावना से ओत-प्रोत युवाओं के निर्माण के लिए मिलकर कार्य करने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई। उन्होंने इस बात पर भी सहमति जताई कि एनसीसी और भारतीय वायुसेना के बीच निरंतर सहयोग भविष्य की सैन्य नेतृत्व क्षमता विकसित करने और अधिक से अधिक युवाओं को सशस्त्र बलों में करियर बनाने के लिए प्रेरित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा।
यह दौरा भारतीय वायुसेना और एनसीसी के बीच मजबूत होते संबंधों का प्रतीक है तथा राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा, सैन्य तैयारी, नेतृत्व विकास और राष्ट्र निर्माण के साझा संकल्प को नई दिशा प्रदान करता है।
