Poetpreneur Ranjeeta Sahay Ashesh Illuminates Modern Poetry at AWWA Lit Fest’s ‘Abhivyakti Season 4’ in Chandimandir

Chandimandir Military Station became a hub for literary brilliance as it hosted the fourth season of the AWWA Literary Fest, Abhivyakti. This three-day event attracted renowned authors, writers, and poets from all corners of India, fostering a space for intellectual exchange and creative inspiration. Organized by the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), the festival was inaugurated by AWWA President Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi, alongside Regional President Mrs. Shuchi Katiyar, who jointly extended a warm welcome to the participants and audience.

One of the highlights of the festival was an engaging panel discussion titled “Verses of Modern India: The Poet’s Voice Today,” featuring the esteemed poetpreneur Mrs. Ranjeeta Sahay Ashesh as one of the panelists. The session, moderated by acclaimed poet Ms. Madhumita Goswami, brought together some of the most influential voices in contemporary Indian poetry, including Col VP Singh and Maj Rama Sharma. Ms. Goswami, known for her evocative poetry, skillfully steered the discussion, inviting each panelist to share their perspective on the evolution and distinctiveness of today’s poetic voices.

Mrs. Ranjeeta Sahay Ashesh, a prominent figure in modern Indian poetry and the founder of the organization KSHITIJ – Where Dreams Meet Reality, offered thought-provoking insights on the emergence of free verse poetry and its transformative impact on the literary landscape. Emphasizing the importance of flexibility in poetic expression, she remarked, “Free verses are helping poets of today. They can express their feelings without the pressure of conforming to a particular form, bringing many hidden writers into the limelight.” Her organization, KSHITIJ, has been instrumental in empowering budding poets, providing them a platform to express their creative voices, unrestrained by traditional formats.

The panel’s discussion struck a chord with the audience, delving into how the freedom from rigid poetic structures has contributed to the rise of new voices across the country. Each panelist expressed appreciation for the openness that contemporary poetry now offers, particularly in capturing the diverse experiences and aspirations of modern India. The hour-long session resonated with the audience, who were deeply engaged and moved by the speakers’ perspectives on the changing dynamics of poetic expression in India.

As a token of appreciation for her contributions to modern Indian poetry, Mrs. Ranjeeta Sahay Ashesh was presented with a beautifully crafted memento by Mrs. Wadhwa, a gesture that underscored the festival’s celebration of artistic contributions.

The AWWA Lit Fest, Abhivyakti Season 4, served as a testament to the power of poetry in reflecting and shaping the collective consciousness of society. For Mrs. Ranjeeta and her fellow panelists, the event was not only an opportunity to showcase their perspectives on poetry but also to witness and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of India’s literary heritage.
