President Droupadi Murmu Confers National Florence Nightingale Award 2026 on Major General Lissamma PV

Military Nursing Service officer honoured for nearly four decades of distinguished service and excellence in nursing care.

President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award 2026 upon Major General Lissamma PV, Additional Director General Military Nursing Service (ADGMNS), during a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The award was presented in recognition of Maj Gen Lissamma PV’s exemplary contributions to the field of nursing and her nearly four decades of distinguished service in the Military Nursing Service.

Her achievement reflects the core values of compassion, professionalism, dedication, and selfless service that define military nursing in India. Throughout her career, she has played a significant role in strengthening healthcare delivery and supporting operational medical readiness within the Armed Forces.
