The accused were posted with Military Intelligence in Delhi; daring abduction from Gaurav Tower ends with arrest after victims escape

In a shocking and unprecedented case that has jolted both military and law enforcement circles, five serving soldiers allegedly posted with Military Intelligence (MI) in Delhi were arrested in Jaipur for posing as NIA officers and kidnapping two civilians for ransom.
The incident occurred on June 28, and was swiftly cracked by the Jawahar Circle Police Station in Jaipur. The accused were identified as Jitendra, Vidyadhar, Anil, Om Singh, and Manoj — all active personnel from the Indian Army. The Rajasthan police acted with remarkable promptness to apprehend the suspects and send them to judicial custody.
THE KIDNAPPING OPERATION: STAGED LIKE AN AGENCY RAID
According to the victims, Prabhulal and P.N. Dudi, the terrifying ordeal began around 5 PM on June 28, when they were sitting at their restaurant “Hub Forty”, located at the busy Gaurav Tower complex in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur.
Out of nowhere, a group of men claiming to be officers from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrived, showed what appeared to be official IDs, and forcibly took the duo into a vehicle. They seized their mobile phones, demanded that they fill out some forms, and even made them sign on blank sheets of paper.
“They showed us NIA ID cards and behaved exactly like investigative officers,” said one of the victims. “They told us we were under investigation and began pressuring us to pay ₹3 crore to settle the matter.”
The victims negotiated and promised to arrange ₹50 lakh, after which the abductors drove them all the way to a highway-side hotel in Bhilwara, nearly 250 km away from Jaipur.
ESCAPE THROUGH FIELDS, THEN POLICE SWOOP
Meanwhile, as the victims’ family members began receiving strange calls and messages, they alerted the Jaipur police. Luckily, Prabhulal and his friend found an opportunity to escape — they ran across adjoining agricultural fields near the hotel, and contacted their family after reaching safety.
Initially, both victims were hesitant to file a police complaint, fearing retribution or humiliation. But upon support from friends and family, they filed an official FIR against all five accused, naming them directly.
The police launched a rapid trace operation, and within hours, succeeded in apprehending all five suspects. According to sources, at least three of them confessed during interrogation.
MILITARY CONNECTION RAISES SERIOUS QUESTIONS
All five arrested are confirmed to be serving Indian Army personnel, and were posted with Military Intelligence units in Delhi. The use of fake NIA IDs, forged papers, and a nearly textbook-like abduction method has raised serious alarm within defence institutions, especially regarding the misuse of authority and access.
A senior Rajasthan Police officer stated, “This is an extremely serious offence. The uniform does not grant anyone the authority to impersonate a central agency and extort civilians. We are taking the matter to military legal authorities as well.”
It is yet unclear whether the Army Headquarters or the Military Intelligence Directorate was aware of the accused men’s involvement in criminal activity. Court of Inquiry proceedings under the Army Act are likely to be initiated parallel to civil criminal prosecution.
UNDERLYING MOTIVE STILL UNDER PROBE
While the immediate motive was extortion, police sources suggest the accused may have believed that the victims were wealthy and involved in illicit transactions — giving the accused a pretext to frame them under “NIA action.” Investigators are now retracing all communication and surveillance data used by the accused prior to the abduction.
Further investigations are being supervised by senior crime branch officials, who are coordinating with Army Liaison Units.

राजस्थान पुलिस ने एक सनसनीखेज मामले का खुलासा किया है, जिसमें भारतीय सेना में कार्यरत पांच फौजियों ने खुद को एनआईए (राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी) का अधिकारी बताकर दो दोस्तों का अपहरण कर लिया। घटना 28 जून की है और जवाहर सर्किल थाना पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए सभी पांचों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेज दिया है।
गिरफ्तार हुए आरोपियों की पहचान जितेंद्र, विद्याधर, अनिल, ओम सिंह और मनोज के रूप में हुई है। ये सभी दिल्ली में मिलिट्री इंटेलिजेंस में तैनात हैं।
गौरव टावर से जबरन कार में बैठाया, एनआईए का फर्जी कार्ड दिखाया
पीड़ितों — प्रभुलाल और पीएन डूडी — ने बताया कि 28 जून की शाम करीब 5 बजे वे अपने रेस्टोरेंट ‘हब फोर्टी’ में बैठे थे, तभी पांच लोग वहां पहुंचे। उन्होंने खुद को एनआईए अधिकारी बताया और एक कार्ड भी दिखाया। इसके बाद जबरन उन्हें एक कार में बैठाया गया, मोबाइल और अन्य सामान छीन लिए गए।
आरोपियों ने दोनों को धमकाते हुए कुछ फॉर्म भरवाए और खाली कागजों पर हस्ताक्षर करवाए। इसके बाद 3 करोड़ रुपये की मांग की, लेकिन पीड़ितों ने कहा कि वे केवल 50 लाख रुपये दे सकते हैं।
फिर आरोपी दोनों को लेकर भीलवाड़ा हाईवे के पास एक होटल में ले गए।
खेतों में भागकर बची जान, पुलिस ने पकड़े आरोपी
जब पीड़ितों के मोबाइल पर परिजनों के फोन आने लगे, तो परिजनों को शक हुआ और उन्होंने पुलिस को सूचना दी। इसी दौरान मौका पाकर प्रभुलाल और सुशील खेतों की ओर भाग निकले और किसी तरह वहां से बचकर जयपुर लौट आए।
पहले दोनों पीड़ितों ने केस दर्ज कराने से मना कर दिया, लेकिन बाद में हिम्मत जुटाकर 5 आरोपियों के खिलाफ नामजद रिपोर्ट दर्ज कराई। पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए सभी को पकड़ लिया और जेल भेज दिया गया।
सेना में तैनात फौजी बन गए अपराधी, विभागीय जांच भी शुरू
आरोपी सेना में कार्यरत हैं और दिल्ली में मिलिट्री इंटेलिजेंस से जुड़े रहे हैं। एनआईए का फर्जी कार्ड, फॉर्म, दस्तावेज और कागजी कार्रवाई जैसी प्लानिंग इस मामले को बेहद गंभीर बनाती है।
वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारियों के अनुसार, “ये बहुत गंभीर मामला है। वर्दी पहनना जिम्मेदारी है, न कि विशेषाधिकार। इस तरह एनआईए अधिकारी बनकर अपहरण करना गंभीर अपराध है।”
सेना की तरफ से भी कोर्ट ऑफ इन्क्वायरी की प्रक्रिया शुरू की जा रही है और पुलिस मामले में पूरी जांच कर रही है कि कहीं कोई और लिंक या साजिश तो नहीं थी।
