Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin Chairs 11th JCM Meeting at Armed Forces Medical Stores Depot Mumbai
DGAFMS reviews welfare and training issues of civilian personnel, inaugurates “Laishram Hall” in honour of Maj Laishram J Singh.

Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), chaired the 11th Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) Level III meeting at the Armed Forces Medical Stores Depot (AFMSD) in Mumbai on May 16, 2026.
During the meeting, the DGAFMS reviewed key issues related to welfare, service conditions, and training of Defence Civilian personnel belonging to the DGAFMS cadre.

Surg Vice Admiral Sarin appreciated the vital contribution of industrial and non-industrial employees serving across various AFMS establishments and emphasised the importance of professionalism, innovation, and active participation in the ongoing digital transformation initiatives within the Armed Forces Medical Services.

On the occasion, the DGAFMS also inaugurated the “Laishram Hall” at AFMSD Mumbai in honour of Major Laishram J Singh, Ashok Chakra (Posthumous), recognising his sacrifice and service to the nation.

The meeting highlighted the AFMS leadership’s continued focus on workforce welfare, organisational modernisation, and strengthening healthcare support systems for the Armed Forces community.
