SWASTH VEERANGANA CANCER CAMP ORGANIZED AT
DEHRADUN MILITARY STATION

Military Hospital and local health organization at Dehradun Military Station, under the aegis of Uttarakhand Sub Area, organized a “Swasth Veerangana Cancer Screening Camp” for the families (women) of soldiers at Sainik Hospital Dehradun on 11 February 2024.
This camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Kaveri Prem Raj, President Family Welfare Organization by lighting a lamp. This camp was conducted with the help of the NGO “Can Protect Foundation”. In this camp, ladies were examined for height, weight, BP, and hemoglobin as well as mammography and PAP SMEAR tests for breast and vaginal cancer.
On this occasion, Colonel Alok Gupta gave information to the audience about various types of cancers. Dr. Sumita Prabhakar of Can Protect Foundation, addressing the ladies, told in very simple language that nowadays cancer can occur at any age. She also mentioned that by maintaining a good lifestyle, good nutrition and getting oneself checked from time to time, these can be detected early and treatment is also possible. In the end, Brigadier Parikshit Singh thanked the team of the Can Protect Foundation for this social welfare program and suggested all the ladies to be conscious about their health. Mrs. Kaveri Prem Raj, President, Family Welfare Organization expressed her gratitude by presenting mementos to the team members.
About 200 ladies got themselves examined in this camp. On this occasion, the local health organization had also organized a health exhibition.
