Lieutenant Colonel Birbal Bishnoi (Retd), a proud son of Bikaner, has chosen to dedicate his post-retirement years to nurturing talent among the youth. With no fees and no personal gain, he has been voluntarily training young boys and girls in the game of basketball at various institutions across the city.
In an age when sports infrastructure and opportunities often seem limited outside metropolitan hubs, Bishnoi’s contribution has become a beacon of hope for aspiring athletes. His commitment is not only about teaching a game but also about instilling discipline, teamwork, and resilience in the next generation. For the last ten years, he has been running a charitable Ayurvedic Aushdhalaya and managing Shri Mohta Ayurvedic Rasayanshala as its Chief Administrator. Today, he serves as the Sarpanch of Nokha Chandavata village, a position from which he has spearheaded numerous development initiatives. From improving infrastructure and sanitation to facilitating better educational opportunities and rural welfare programmes, Singh has made his village a model of community-driven progress.

As the founder of the New Red Shooting Club, he provides free training in 10-metre air pistol shooting to boys and girls. His dedication to nurturing young talent has already borne fruit – many of his students have gone on to represent Bikaner in state and national-level shooting competitions.
Shooting as a sport demands precision, patience, and unwavering focus – qualities Singh honed during his service in the Army. By imparting these skills to the youth, he is not only creating athletes but also instilling a sense of discipline and determination that extends beyond the shooting range. For many underprivileged children, his club is a gateway to opportunities that might otherwise have remained closed.

बीकानेर, 02 अक्टूबर 2025 – राष्ट्र सेवा की भावना वर्दी उतार देने के बाद भी समाप्त नहीं होती। यह अलग-अलग रूपों में जारी रहती है – कभी खेलों में युवाओं को तराशने के रूप में, तो कभी ग्रामीण विकास, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं और सामाजिक उत्थान के प्रयासों में। इसी सतत सेवा भावना को सम्मानित करने के लिए गांधी जयंती के अवसर पर बीकानेर सैन्य स्टेशन में आयोजित समारोह में थलसेना प्रमुख जनरल उपेन्द्र द्विवेदी ने चार विशिष्ट पूर्व सैनिकों को “वेटरन अचीवर्स अवार्ड” से अलंकृत किया।

बीकानेर के गौरव लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल बिर्बल बिश्नोई (रिटायर्ड) ने अपनी सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद का समय युवाओं की खेल प्रतिभा को निखारने में समर्पित कर दिया है। उन्होंने बिना किसी शुल्क के, पूरी तरह स्वेच्छा से, बीकानेर के विभिन्न संस्थानों में बालकों और बालिकाओं को बास्केटबॉल का प्रशिक्षण देना शुरू किया।

लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल के. हेम सिंह शेखावत (रिटायर्ड) की जीवन गाथा परंपरा और प्रगति के सुंदर मेल को दर्शाती है। सेना से निवृत्ति के बाद उन्होंने स्वास्थ्य सेवा और सामाजिक कार्य को जीवन का लक्ष्य बना लिया। पिछले दस वर्षों से वे एक निःशुल्क आयुर्वेदिक औषधालय चला रहे हैं और श्री मोहता आयुर्वेदिक रसायनशाला के मुख्य प्रशासक के रूप में कार्य कर रहे हैं। उनकी पहल से प्राचीन आयुर्वेदिक ज्ञान आज भी आमजन तक सुलभ और उपयोगी बन रहा है।

जिस अनुशासन और नेतृत्व क्षमता से वे कभी सैन्य टुकड़ियों का मार्गदर्शन करते थे, वही गुण अब उन्हें एक सफल जननायक बनाते हैं। ग्रामीण जनता के लिए वे इस आदर्श का प्रतीक बन गए हैं कि सेना के संस्कार समाज के हर क्षेत्र में सकारात्मक बदलाव ला सकते हैं।
हवलदार नकट सिंह (सेवानिवृत्त): निशानेबाजी से नई पीढ़ी का निर्माण
हवलदार नकट सिंह (रिटायर्ड), चारों पुरस्कार विजेताओं में सबसे युवा, ने अपनी विशेषज्ञता को नई पीढ़ी तक पहुंचाने का बीड़ा उठाया है। उन्होंने न्यू रेड शूटिंग क्लब, बीकानेर की स्थापना की है और यहां बच्चों को 10 मीटर एयर पिस्टल शूटिंग का निःशुल्क प्रशिक्षण देते हैं।
उनकी मेहनत से अनेक बच्चे राज्य और राष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगिताओं में बीकानेर का नाम रोशन कर रहे हैं। निशानेबाजी में आवश्यक धैर्य, ध्यान और एकाग्रता वे अपने शिष्यों को सिखा रहे हैं। यह क्लब उन युवाओं के लिए अवसर का दरवाजा खोलता है जो अन्यथा संसाधनों के अभाव में पिछड़ सकते थे।
