We Are Foundation Marks Pitrupaksha Amavasya with Service and Compassion: Mid-Day Meal for Children at Anand Marg Ashram, Vyasa Colony

Jaipur, September 21, 2025:
In keeping with the sacred traditions of Pitrupaksha Amavasya, a day devoted to honoring ancestors through remembrance, service, and charity, We Are Foundation organized a heartfelt community service program. Under the guidance of its Founder, Director, and President, Archana Saxena, the foundation carried forward the legacy of service by arranging a special mid-day meal for the children of Anand Marg Ashram, located in Vyasa Colony.

Honoring Ancestors through Service

Pitrupaksha Amavasya, deeply rooted in Indian cultural and spiritual practices, emphasizes that the truest tribute to one’s ancestors lies not merely in rituals, but in acts of compassion and selfless giving. Embracing this spirit, We Are Foundation sought to channel reverence for forefathers into tangible service for society’s most vulnerable.

Speaking on the occasion, Archana Saxena expressed her heartfelt belief:
“The true worship of our ancestors is in serving those in need. When we bring smiles to children’s faces, that is the greatest tribute we can offer to those who came before us.”

Her words reflected both the vision of the foundation and the ethos of Pitrupaksha—where remembrance translates into service, and rituals take the form of kindness.

A Collective Effort Rooted in Unity

The event was a resounding success due to the collective efforts of the foundation’s members, each of whom contributed their time, energy, and compassion to the cause. The coordination of the program was effectively managed by Alka Parikh, who ensured that arrangements ran smoothly and the children were served with warmth and dignity.

Bina Khurdara, in-charge of the General Board, also extended her wholehearted support. She remarked, “Bringing smiles to these children is a special mission of our organization. Every initiative like this strengthens our bond of service and humanity.”

Community Leaders and Volunteers at the Forefront

The program also saw active involvement from several members and office-bearers of We Are Foundation. Secretary Sunil Bhati, along with Pradeep Sir and Umesh Sharma, contributed significantly to the initiative, ensuring that the children not only received nutritious meals but also felt a sense of belonging and joy.

In addition, the presence and support of members like Alka Parikh, Lalita Kalra, Vijay Mungia, Bhavana Parikh, Mansa Rawat, Muskan Khatri, Rakhi Rawat, Premlata, Renu Arora, Mohini Sharma, Advocate Veena Khurdura, Ankita Gomber, and Vijay Swami added further strength to the initiative. Their participation underscored the spirit of volunteerism that forms the backbone of We Are Foundation.

Feeding Hearts, Not Just Stomachs

While the tangible highlight of the program was the mid-day meal served to the children at Anand Marg Ashram, the true essence of the initiative lay in the compassion and togetherness that marked the occasion. The children, who often yearn for attention and care as much as for food, found themselves surrounded by love, affection, and a sense of family.

The dining hall resonated with laughter and cheer as the children enjoyed the meal prepared for them. Their smiles became a reflection of the foundation’s belief that service is not just about meeting material needs but about nurturing hope, dignity, and emotional well-being.

A Tradition Transformed into Social Responsibility

We Are Foundation’s initiative is a reminder of how traditional festivals and religious observances can be reinterpreted in modern contexts to create meaningful social impact. By turning the ritualistic remembrance of ancestors into community service, the foundation demonstrated that true devotion lies in uplifting the underprivileged and spreading compassion.

A Symbol of Unity and Service

The program was not the work of a single individual but the outcome of collective unity, shared responsibility, and deep-rooted service values. Every member of the foundation contributed, proving that when people come together with one vision, change becomes inevitable.

We Are Foundation reiterated that such programs are not one-off events but part of its broader mission to create a society where compassion and service are integrated into everyday life.

Looking Ahead

As the foundation continues its journey, this event stands out as a landmark initiative that beautifully combined tradition with service. It set an example of how community organizations can give new meaning to cultural practices, transforming them into opportunities for social good and humanitarian service.

In the words of the foundation’s members, this was not merely about serving food—it was about serving humanity, honoring ancestors, and creating a living bond between the past, present, and future.
