WORLD ANTI TERRORISM DAY OBSERVED BY ARMY IN ASSAM

In its resolve and steadfast commitment to fostering Peace and unity, Spear Corps of the Indian Army observed World Anti-Terrorism Day on 21 May 2024. A series of activities to raise awareness and promote Peace were held across Assam. Importance of collective action against terrorism was also emphasized upon.
Lectures was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Dirak, Town Higher Secondary School, Margherita, Tinsukia district and Tipong, Upper Assam. Pivotal role of education in combating terrorism, staying informed about the environment, employment opportunities leading to economic stability were the key highlights of the lectures. A large number of students and teachers attended the events.
In addition, a special exhibition was also held showcasing the rich history of the Indian Army in Counter Terrorist operations and its role in sustained peace in the region. Various schemes to join the Armed Forces and other CAPF were also an important feature of the exhibition.
The events conducted by Army were focused on honouring the Bravehearts from the state who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism. Community outreach programs highlighting the importance of vigilance and collective responsibility of every citizen in combating terrorism were also carried out.
The Indian Army remains committed to its mission of ensuring the safety and security of the Nation. World Anti-Terrorism Day stands as a testament to their unwavering dedication to protecting the country and promoting Peace and Harmony.
