World-renowned boxer Aamir Khan @amirkingkhan was awarded the honorary rank of Captain by the #Pakistan Army for a day in a special ceremony, acknowledging his remarkable achievements in the field of boxing.
The Pakistan Army has long been a supporter of individuals who excel in various fields, and in line with this, they honored Aamir Khan, who made history by winning a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics at just 17 years old.
The ceremony reflected the army’s commitment to recognizing talent and encouraging youth participation in sports.
After receiving the honorary title, Aamir Khan expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan Army, stating, “I feel proud to receive this honor today. The army has always played an important role in promoting sports, and wearing this uniform brings me the same joy I felt when I became a world champion.”
Aamir Khan emphasized his support for the Pakistan Army and highlighted his plans to contribute to the development of sports in Pakistan. “I intend to open more boxing academies in Pakistan and train young boxers. One day, we will win medals in Commonwealth and Olympics, God willing,” he said. He also shared his positive interaction with the Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, thanking him and the Pakistan Army for the honor.
In his closing remarks, Aamir Khan encouraged Pakistani youth to participate more in sports and shared a message of perseverance and self-belief. “Stay focused, work hard, and believe in yourself,” he advised.
At the end of the ceremony, Aamir Khan spent time with the soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army, engaging with them and further strengthening the bond between the military and sports.
