A New Generation of Leaders: Convocation Ceremony of Army Cadet College ACC-125 Course Held at IMA Dehradun

Dehradun, 6 June 2025 – In a solemn and dignified ceremony that reflected the legacy, honour and future of the Indian Army, 48 cadets of the 125th course of the Army Cadet College (ACC) Wing were conferred graduation degrees at the prestigious Chetwode Hall of the Indian Military Academy (IMA). The convocation marked a proud culmination of their three-year academic and military journey, setting the stage for the next chapter—pre-commissioning officer training at IMA.
The event was graced by Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, Commandant of the Indian Military Academy, who presented the degrees to the cadets on behalf of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Among the graduating cadets, 18 were from the Science stream and 30 from the Humanities stream.
Academic Honour with Military Rigour
The Army Cadet College Wing, an integral part of the Indian Army’s officer training ecosystem, has been shaping the futures of deserving personnel from the ranks who display leadership potential. Unlike other cadet entry schemes, ACC cadets bring with them prior service experience from the ranks, and are carefully selected for officer roles based on merit, performance and leadership acumen.
Over the past three years, these cadets underwent a rigorous curriculum that not only fulfilled academic requirements through JNU’s Bachelor’s Degree program but also integrated intensive physical, tactical and leadership training—a blend designed to develop future-ready officers of character and capability.
Lt Gen Nagendra Singh, in his convocation address, congratulated the cadets and lauded their transformation from young jawans to gentlemen cadets now poised to shoulder command responsibilities. He highlighted the foundational values of character, self-discipline, courage, motivation, and professional competence as essential pillars of a successful Army officer’s life.
Medals of Honour: Recognising Excellence
The ceremony was also marked by the distribution of prestigious awards and medals to recognise the exceptional performance of the cadets:
- Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gold Medal – Wing Cadet Captain Praveen Kumar
- COAS Silver Medal – Platoon Cadet Captain Amit Kuntal
- COAS Bronze Medal – Company Cadet Captain Amandeep Singh
In addition, Commandant’s Silver Medals were awarded for individual excellence:
- Platoon Cadet Captain Amit Kuntal – First in Service Subjects and First in Humanities Stream
- Wing Cadet Captain Praveen Kumar – First in Science Stream
Kargil Company Declared Champion
The Commandant’s Banner, awarded annually to the best-performing company, went to KARGIL COMPANY for its outstanding performance across multiple domains, including academics, sports, physical training, interior economy, weapon training, and inter-company competitions.
Lt Gen Singh praised Brigadier Peeyush Khurana, SM, Commander of the ACC Wing, and his dedicated team of instructors for shaping the cadets through discipline, dedication, and mentorship. The ceremony, attended by proud parents, family members, and distinguished guests, was an emotional tribute to the cadets’ transformational journey—from soldiers to scholars, and now future officers.
Marching Ahead: Next Stop IMA
Having completed their academic phase, the cadets will now proceed to the Indian Military Academy in July 2025 for a one-year pre-commissioning training, after which they will be commissioned as officers into various arms and services of the Indian Army.
The event served as a poignant reminder of the values of “Service Before Self”, etched in every cadet’s mind, and resonated with the legacy of generations of officers who have passed through these historic portals.

देहरादून, 6 जून 2025 – देहरादून स्थित भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी (IMA) के प्रतिष्ठित चेटवोड हॉल में आज गौरव, अनुशासन और प्रेरणा से भरा दीक्षांत समारोह आयोजित किया गया, जिसमें सेना कैडेट कॉलेज (ACC) विंग के 125वें कोर्स के 48 कैडेटों को उनके तीन वर्षीय कठोर शैक्षणिक व सैन्य प्रशिक्षण पूर्ण करने के उपलक्ष्य में जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय (JNU) द्वारा स्नातक डिग्री प्रदान की गई।
इस गरिमामयी अवसर पर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल नागेंद्र सिंह, एवीएसएम, वाईएसएम, एसएम, कमांडेंट, IMA, मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे और उन्होंने विज्ञान संकाय के 18 कैडेट और मानविकी संकाय के 30 कैडेटों को स्नातक उपाधि से सम्मानित किया।
शैक्षणिक उत्कृष्टता और सैन्य अनुशासन का संगम
ACC विंग भारतीय सेना का एक प्रमुख प्रशिक्षण संस्थान है, जहां रैंकों से चुने गए सैनिकों को अधिकारी बनने के लिए तैयार किया जाता है। यहां कैडेट तीन वर्षों तक शैक्षणिक शिक्षा के साथ-साथ कठोर सैन्य प्रशिक्षण से गुजरते हैं, जिससे उनका शारीरिक, मानसिक और नेतृत्व कौशल पूर्ण रूप से विकसित होता है।
अपने संबोधन में लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल नागेंद्र सिंह ने कहा कि एक सफल सैन्य अधिकारी के लिए चरित्र, आत्म-अनुशासन, साहस, प्रेरणा और व्यावसायिक दक्षता सबसे आवश्यक गुण हैं। उन्होंने कैडेटों को उनके अब तक के सफर के लिए बधाई दी और आगे की यात्रा के लिए प्रेरित किया।

KARGIL कंपनी को इस वर्ष का कमांडेंट्स बैनर प्रदान किया गया, जो खेलकूद, हथियार प्रशिक्षण, शैक्षणिक उपलब्धियों, इंटीरियर इकॉनमी और अन्य प्रतिस्पर्धाओं में सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन करने वाली कंपनी को दिया जाता है।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह ने ब्रिगेडियर पीयूष खुराना, एसएम और उनकी प्रशिक्षण टीम को उत्कृष्ट नेतृत्व और समर्पण के लिए सराहा। कार्यक्रम में कैडेटों के गर्वित माता-पिता, गणमान्य अतिथि और अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे, जो इस संपूर्ण परिवर्तन यात्रा के साक्षी बने।
अगला कदम: IMA में प्री-कमीशन प्रशिक्षण
इन स्नातक कैडेटों की अगली मंज़िल अब IMA में एक वर्ष का प्री-कमीशन प्रशिक्षण होगा, जो जुलाई 2025 में शुरू होगा। इसके बाद वे भारतीय सेना के विभिन्न अंगों में अधिकारी के रूप में नियुक्त किए जाएंगे।
यह दीक्षांत समारोह एक गौरवपूर्ण विरासत, सेवा से समर्पण तक की भावना, और भारत माता की सेवा के लिए निष्ठा का प्रतीक बनकर उभरा।
