500 Para Commandos Deployed to Combat Terrorist Infiltration in Jammu

In a significant military response to recent terror activities, the Indian Army has deployed approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos in Jammu to address the infiltration of 50-55 highly trained terrorists from Pakistan.

This strategic deployment aims to dismantle the resurgence of terrorism in the region, according to defence sources.

The intensified military action follows credible intelligence suggesting that these terrorists have entered the Jammu area with the objective of reviving terrorist activities.

In addition to the deployment of Para commandos, the Army has mobilized one brigade, comprising around 3,500-4,000 personnel, to strengthen the counter-terrorism efforts against Pakistan’s proxy aggression.

Intelligence agencies are concurrently enhancing their operations to disrupt the terrorist support infrastructure, including targeting overground workers who aid these elements.

The Army’s existing counter-terrorism setup in the area, which includes two forces of the Rashtriya Rifles—Romeo and Delta forces—alongside other regular infantry divisions, forms a robust defense mechanism against such threats.

These measures are part of a broader strategy implemented by the Army’s ground leadership to locate and eliminate the terrorists, who are reported to be equipped with advanced weaponry and communication technologies.
