The Rajasthan government’s ambitious green initiative, ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’, has transcended the boundaries of a state-run campaign to become a source of inspiration for civil society. A testament to this transformation was witnessed when Rotary Club Bikaner Aadhya turned a red alert issued during the monsoon into a deeply emotional and environmentally conscious campaign titled “A Tree in Mother’s Name.”
Held at the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Bikaner, this plantation and tree protection drive became a confluence of emotions and commitment. The event didn’t just focus on planting saplings, but also on protecting them by installing tree guards—sending a strong message that planting is just the beginning; nurturing and safeguarding are also shared social responsibilities.
A Green Tribute to Motherhood
Each sapling was dedicated to a mother, turning the plantation drive into an emotional homage. Through this campaign, Rotary Club Bikaner Aadhya conveyed that nature, like a mother, protects us and provides shelter. The central objective of the campaign was to treat trees with reverence, make protection a duty, and nurture greenery as a cultural value.
An Outstanding Example of Administrative Support and Public Participation
The event was presided over by Mr. V. Venkatesan, Additional Director, FSL Bikaner, with Mrs. Nishita Surana, Region Chairperson of Rotary Club Region One, as the chief guest.
Rotary Club Aadhya President Mrs. Deepika Choudhary emphasized the critical importance of tree plantation in the wake of climate imbalance, rising temperatures, and irregular rainfall.

A significant highlight of the event was the installation of tree guards alongside each sapling, to prevent damage from animals or other external factors. The campaign stood out for its strong women-led leadership. The president, secretary, and other senior women members of the club took it upon themselves to dig pits, plant trees, and install guards with their own hands. Leading female members included:

राजस्थान सरकार की हरियाली बढ़ाने की महत्त्वाकांक्षी योजना ‘हरियालो राजस्थान’ अब केवल एक सरकारी कार्यक्रम नहीं रही, बल्कि सामाजिक चेतना और भावनात्मक जागरूकता का जनांदोलन बनती जा रही है। इसी भावना को साकार किया रोटरी क्लब बीकानेर आध्या ने, जब सावन के मौसम में बारिश के रेड अलर्ट को एक हरित श्रद्धांजलि में बदल दिया – मातृत्व को समर्पित भावनात्मक और सामाजिक पहल “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम” के रूप में।
यह विशिष्ट आयोजन एफएसएल बीकानेर (क्षेत्रीय विधि विज्ञान प्रयोगशाला) परिसर में हुआ, जिसमें रोटरी क्लब आध्या और एफएसएल बीकानेर के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में न केवल पौधरोपण हुआ, बल्कि प्रत्येक पौधे को एक माँ के नाम समर्पित कर इस आयोजन को व्यक्तिगत श्रद्धांजलि और सार्वजनिक संकल्प दोनों का प्रतीक बना दिया गया।

रोटरी क्लब बीकानेर आध्या की अध्यक्ष श्रीमती दीपिका चौधरी ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि “पर्यावरणीय असंतुलन, जलवायु परिवर्तन और बढ़ते तापमान की चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए वृक्षारोपण अब विकल्प नहीं, आवश्यकता बन चुकी है।”

इस कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता एफएसएल बीकानेर के अतिरिक्त निदेशक श्री वी. वेंकटेशन ने की। उनके साथ उपस्थित थे:

शिक्षा, विज्ञान और पर्यावरण – तीनों का अनूठा संगम
एफएसएल बीकानेर ने इस अवसर पर सभी प्रतिभागियों को एक शैक्षणिक भ्रमण भी करवाया, जिसमें उन्हें वैज्ञानिक उपकरणों, फॉरेंसिक जांच विधियों और अपराध सुलझाने की तकनीकों की जानकारी दी गई। इस शैक्षणिक पहल ने युवाओं के मन में विज्ञान के प्रति नई रुचि पैदा की और पर्यावरणीय चेतना को वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण से जोड़ने का प्रयास किया।
सिर्फ पौधारोपण नहीं – वृक्ष सुरक्षा का भी संकल्प
कार्यक्रम की एक उल्लेखनीय विशेषता यह थी कि प्रत्येक लगाए गए पौधे के साथ ट्री गार्ड भी लगाए गए, जिससे यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि पशुओं या अन्य बाहरी कारकों से पौधे सुरक्षित रहें। सभी प्रतिभागियों ने यह संकल्प लिया कि वे इन पौधों की देखभाल व्यक्तिगत रूप से करेंगे और उनके बढ़ने तक उनका संरक्षण सुनिश्चित करेंगे।
महिला नेतृत्व से जगाई पर्यावरणीय चेतना
इस पूरे अभियान की विशेष बात यह रही कि इसमें महिला शक्ति का नेतृत्व केंद्रीय भूमिका में रहा। क्लब की अध्यक्ष दीपिका चौधरी, सचिव संगीता शेखावत, रीजन को चेयर निशिता सुराणा, असिस्टेंट गवर्नर भारती गहलोत, साथ ही शीला सांखला और मोनिका पचीसिया , सुषमा मोहता जैसे महिला सदस्यों ने न केवल नेतृत्व किया बल्कि खुद गड्ढे खोदे, पौधे रोपे और ट्री गार्ड लगाए।
इन्होंने यह सिद्ध कर दिया कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण में महिलाओं की भूमिका केवल सहायक नहीं, बल्कि निर्णायक और प्रेरणादायक है।
आपदा को अवसर में बदलने का प्रेरणादायक उदाहरण
जब पश्चिम राजस्थान में सावन के दौरान मौसम विभाग ने रेड अलर्ट जारी किया, तब अधिकतर लोग घरों में सीमित रहते हैं, लेकिन रोटरी क्लब आध्या ने इसे हरियाली का उत्सव बना दिया। यह कार्यक्रम इस बात का जीवंत उदाहरण है कि सोच यदि सकारात्मक हो, तो हर आपदा सेवा और सृजन का अवसर बन सकती है।
एक बीज, एक संकल्प, एक श्रद्धांजलि
“एक पेड़ माँ के नाम” न सिर्फ एक पौधारोपण कार्यक्रम था, बल्कि भावनात्मक जुड़ाव, सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व और पर्यावरणीय चेतना का संगम था। यदि बीकानेर की यह पहल राज्य के अन्य जिलों में दोहराई जाए, तो ‘हरियालो राजस्थान’ केवल एक सरकारी योजना नहीं, बल्कि जन-जन का आंदोलन बन सकता है।
