Army Commander Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra Reviews Operational Preparedness at Bathinda Military Station, Calls for Technology-Driven Transformation in Modern Warfare
Bathinda, Punjab: In a significant step towards strengthening the Indian Army’s combat preparedness and operational effectiveness, Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Sapta Shakti Command, visited Bathinda Military Station from August 4 to August 6 for an extensive review of the prevailing operational environment and the Army’s preparedness to meet emerging security challenges.
During the three-day visit, the Army Commander held detailed operational discussions with senior field commanders and military leadership to assess the current security situation, operational readiness, force deployment, and future preparedness. The review focused on ensuring that formations under the Sapta Shakti Command remain capable of responding swiftly and effectively to evolving threats across the western theatre.
Highlighting the rapidly changing character of warfare, Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra stressed the importance of continuously transforming warfighting capabilities to remain ahead in an increasingly technology-driven battlefield. He emphasized that the future of military operations will be shaped by artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, drones, electronic warfare, cyber capabilities, precision-guided weapons, and integrated surveillance technologies, making it essential for commanders and troops to constantly upgrade their operational skills.
The Army Commander called for continuous refinement of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to match the demands of 21st-century multi-domain warfare, where land, air, cyber, space, electromagnetic, and information domains are increasingly interconnected. He noted that success in future conflicts will depend not only on firepower but also on speed, adaptability, situational awareness, and seamless integration of advanced technologies into operational planning.
Lt Gen Malhotra underlined the need for agile, informed, and adaptive decision-making at every level of command. He urged commanders to leverage emerging technologies, real-time intelligence, and data-driven planning to maintain a decisive operational edge over adversaries. Incorporating innovation into military doctrine, training, and battlefield execution, he said, would be essential for preserving India’s combat superiority in future conflicts.
The visit also included reviews of operational infrastructure, troop preparedness, training standards, logistics support, and the implementation of technology-enabled systems aimed at improving battlefield effectiveness. Discussions focused on enhancing interoperability, improving command and control mechanisms, and ensuring that troops remain prepared for both conventional and hybrid warfare scenarios.
Sapta Shakti Command, responsible for safeguarding India’s strategically important western front, continues to play a pivotal role in maintaining operational readiness along the border. The Army Commander’s visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to modernisation, capability enhancement, and continuous transformation in line with evolving global military trends.
The review concluded with Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra appreciating the professionalism, dedication, and operational excellence displayed by the troops and commanders. He encouraged all ranks to continue striving for excellence through innovation, realistic training, and technological integration, ensuring that the Indian Army remains future-ready to meet every national security challenge.

बठिंडा, पंजाब: भारतीय सेना की युद्धक क्षमता, परिचालन तैयारी और भविष्य की चुनौतियों से निपटने की रणनीति को और अधिक मजबूत बनाने के उद्देश्य से सप्त शक्ति कमान के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मोहित मल्होत्रा ने 4 से 6 अगस्त तक बठिंडा मिलिट्री स्टेशन का दौरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने वरिष्ठ फील्ड कमांडरों के साथ विस्तृत परिचालन चर्चाएं कर वर्तमान सुरक्षा परिदृश्य, सीमा क्षेत्रों की स्थिति और सेना की समग्र युद्धक तैयारियों की व्यापक समीक्षा की।
तीन दिवसीय दौरे के दौरान आर्मी कमांडर ने पश्चिमी मोर्चे पर तैनात सैन्य संरचनाओं की परिचालन क्षमता, सैनिकों की युद्ध तैयारी, प्रशिक्षण, लॉजिस्टिक व्यवस्था और भविष्य की सुरक्षा चुनौतियों का गहन मूल्यांकन किया। उन्होंने अधिकारियों के साथ विचार-विमर्श करते हुए बदलते वैश्विक सुरक्षा वातावरण और आधुनिक युद्ध के स्वरूप पर विस्तार से चर्चा की।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मोहित मल्होत्रा ने कहा कि 21वीं सदी का युद्ध अब केवल पारंपरिक हथियारों तक सीमित नहीं रह गया है। भविष्य के युद्ध कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI), ड्रोन, साइबर युद्ध, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वारफेयर, स्पेस आधारित निगरानी, सटीक प्रहार करने वाले हथियारों और नेटवर्क-केंद्रित अभियानों पर आधारित होंगे। ऐसे में भारतीय सेना को लगातार अपनी युद्धक क्षमताओं और प्रशिक्षण प्रणाली को विकसित करना होगा ताकि किसी भी चुनौती का प्रभावी ढंग से सामना किया जा सके।
उन्होंने विशेष रूप से टैक्टिक्स, टेक्निक्स एंड प्रोसीजर्स (Tactics, Techniques and Procedures – TTPs) में निरंतर सुधार की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। उनका कहना था कि बदलती तकनीक और बहु-आयामी युद्धक्षेत्र (Multi-Domain Battlefield) की मांगों के अनुरूप सैन्य रणनीतियों को लगातार अद्यतन करना समय की आवश्यकता है। भविष्य के युद्धों में सफलता केवल हथियारों की ताकत से नहीं, बल्कि तेज निर्णय क्षमता, वास्तविक समय की खुफिया जानकारी, तकनीकी श्रेष्ठता और विभिन्न युद्धक्षेत्रों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय से तय होगी।
आर्मी कमांडर ने सभी सैन्य कमांडरों को तकनीक आधारित, लचीली, सूचनाओं पर आधारित और परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप तुरंत बदल सकने वाली परिचालन योजना अपनाने का निर्देश दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता, डेटा एनालिटिक्स, आधुनिक निगरानी प्रणालियों और डिजिटल कमांड एंड कंट्रोल नेटवर्क का प्रभावी उपयोग भारतीय सेना को भविष्य के युद्धों में निर्णायक बढ़त दिलाएगा।
दौरे के दौरान प्रशिक्षण मानकों, ऑपरेशनल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, सैनिकों की तैयारियों, लॉजिस्टिक सपोर्ट, तकनीक आधारित सैन्य प्रणालियों और विभिन्न सैन्य इकाइयों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय की भी समीक्षा की गई। साथ ही भविष्य की पारंपरिक और हाइब्रिड दोनों प्रकार की चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए सेना की तैयारियों पर विस्तार से चर्चा हुई।
भारत के पश्चिमी सीमांत की सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी संभालने वाली सप्त शक्ति कमान भारतीय सेना की सबसे महत्वपूर्ण ऑपरेशनल कमानों में से एक है। ऐसे में आर्मी कमांडर का यह दौरा भारतीय सेना के आधुनिकीकरण, तकनीकी रूपांतरण, नवाचार आधारित सैन्य रणनीति और भविष्य की युद्ध आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप युद्धक क्षमता विकसित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम माना जा रहा है।
दौरे के समापन पर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मोहित मल्होत्रा ने अधिकारियों और सैनिकों के उच्च मनोबल, अनुशासन, पेशेवर दक्षता और उत्कृष्ट परिचालन तैयारियों की सराहना की। उन्होंने सभी रैंकों से निरंतर नवाचार, आधुनिक प्रशिक्षण और तकनीकी दक्षता के माध्यम से भारतीय सेना को भविष्य के हर युद्धक्षेत्र के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार रखने का आह्वान किया।
