It is a moment of pride and joy for Government Dungar College, Bikaner, as Dr. Sonu Shiva, Head of the Department of English, has been honoured for her contribution to cinematic excellence at the International Film Festival held in The Hague, Netherlands. The festival took place on 8 and 9 November 2025.
Dr. Shiva was invited from India as a jury member for this prestigious global event. As part of the international jury, she evaluated hundreds of films from across the world and selected 12 distinguished films for recognition. During the festival, she also delivered expert lectures in master classes on Acting, Playwriting and Culture, as well as Film Budgeting and Finance.
Dr. Sonu Shiva is known not only for her expertise in English but also for her remarkable command in the field of Film Studies. Her research articles on film studies have been published in reputed national and international journals, and she is currently supervising active research projects in this discipline. Earlier too, she was honoured for his work in Film Studies at the Aravali International Film Festival in Delhi.
Principal Dr. Rajendra Purohit expressed happiness on Dr. Shiva’s achievement and described it as a proud moment for the entire college community.
