The festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja brings with it an unprecedented surge in passenger traffic across India. In preparation for this annual challenge, the Bikaner Railway Division implemented extensive planning and logistical measures to ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable journey for all travelers passing through its jurisdiction.
From October 1 to October 20, 2025, the division facilitated travel for approximately 21 lakh reserved and unreserved passengers, with a peak flow of 60,000 passengers at Lalgarh station alone, showcasing exemplary crowd and operational management.
Special Services and Added Capacity for Festive Travelers
According to Division Railway Manager Gaurav Govil, the Bikaner Railway Division operated 11 pairs of special trains (22 in total) during the festive period to ease congestion. Additionally, extra coaches were attached to major trains such as Bikaner–Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Bikaner–Miraj, and Bikaner–Amritsar, ensuring that long-distance passengers could travel comfortably.
To prevent overcrowding, temporary restrictions were placed on platform tickets, and separate entry gates were designated for reserved and unreserved passengers. Barricades were installed near general coaches to maintain orderly boarding and disembarking, significantly improving the safety and convenience of travelers.
Enhanced Security and Surveillance Measures
Security and passenger safety remained the highest priority throughout the festive period. Lalgarh station, for instance, saw the installation of 34 CCTV cameras covering the station premises, coupled with metal detectors, scanner machines, and a specialized squad of RPF personnel and dogs.
A 24×7 war room was set up at the division level to monitor train operations and passenger movement in real time. Information and alerts were regularly disseminated via the public address system to keep passengers informed. All stations, including Bikaner, Lalgarh, Hisar, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bhiwani, Churu, and Suratgarh, were staffed with facility managers to assist passengers and maintain smooth operations.
Modern amenities like water coolers, air conditioning, lifts, and escalators were maintained in full working order, ensuring passenger comfort throughout the festival.
Inspection and Oversight by Division Manager
Today, Division Railway Manager Gaurav Govil personally inspected Lalgarh railway station, focusing on crowd management and security arrangements. He interacted with the RPF control room to review real-time monitoring and provided additional guidance to enhance passenger safety.
He emphasized, “During Diwali and Chhath Puja, passenger numbers increase exponentially. Our goal is to ensure that every traveler enjoys a safe, timely, and hassle-free journey. Through modern technology, war room monitoring, and strong arrangements at major stations, we have ensured that no passenger faces inconvenience.”
Additional Special Trains to Meet Passenger Demand
To address rising passenger demand during the festive period, Bikaner Division operated additional special trains as follows:
- Train No. 09636 Madar–Rohtak Special: October 1 – November 30, 2025 (Daily)
- Train No. 09640 Rohtak–Madar Special: October 1 – November 30, 2025 (Daily)
- Train No. 04729 Sri Ganganagar–Gorakhpur Weekly Special: October 23 – 30, 2025 (Every Thursday)
- Train No. 04733 Bhiwani–Ajmer Unreserved Special: October 22, 23, 24, and 25, 2025

दिवाली और छठ पूजा जैसे बड़े त्यौहारों के दौरान देशभर में यात्री आवागमन में अप्रत्याशित वृद्धि होती है। इस चुनौती का सामना करने के लिए बीकानेर रेल मंडल ने व्यापक तैयारियां कीं और सुनिश्चित किया कि यात्रियों को सुरक्षित, सुचारू और आरामदायक यात्रा का अनुभव मिले।
1 अक्टूबर से 20 अक्टूबर 2025 तक मंडल से लगभग 21 लाख आरक्षित और अनारक्षित यात्रियों ने यात्रा की, जिसमें अकेले लालगढ़ स्टेशन पर 60 हजार यात्रियों की भीड़ को उत्कृष्ट प्रबंधन के साथ संभाला गया।
त्योहारी सेवाओं और अतिरिक्त कोचों का प्रबंध
मंडल रेल प्रबंधक गौरव गोविल के अनुसार, त्योहारी अवधि में मंडल ने 11 जोड़ी (कुल 22) विशेष रेल सेवाओं का संचालन किया। इसके अलावा, लंबी दूरी के यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए बीकानेर–दिल्ली सराय रोहिल्ला, बीकानेर–मिरज और बीकानेर–अमृतसर जैसी प्रमुख ट्रेनों में अतिरिक्त कोच जोड़े गए।
भीड़ नियंत्रण के लिए प्लेटफार्म टिकटों पर अस्थायी रोक लगाई गई, आरक्षित और अनारक्षित यात्रियों के लिए अलग-अलग प्रवेश द्वार बनाए गए और सामान्य कोचों के पास बैरिकेड्स लगाकर क्रमवार प्रवेश सुनिश्चित किया गया।
सुरक्षा और निगरानी व्यवस्था
सुरक्षा और यात्री सुरक्षा को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता दी गई। लालगढ़ स्टेशन पर 34 सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगाए गए, और मेटल डिटेक्टर, स्कैनर मशीन और आरपीएफ जवानों के साथ स्क्वायड डॉग यूनिट्स तैनात की गईं।
मंडल स्तर पर 24×7 वार रूम स्थापित किया गया, जो रीयल-टाइम में ट्रेन संचालन और यात्रियों की निगरानी करता है। सार्वजनिक पता प्रणाली (P.A. System) के माध्यम से यात्रियों को समय-समय पर सूचनाएं दी जाती रही।
बीकानेर, लालगढ़, हिसार, श्रीगंगानगर, हनुमानगढ़, भिवानी, चूरू और सूरतगढ़ स्टेशनों पर फैसिलिटी मैनेजर तैनात किए गए ताकि यात्रियों को तत्काल सहायता मिल सके। सभी आधुनिक सुविधाएं जैसे वॉटर कूलर, एसी, लिफ्ट और एस्केलेटर सुचारू रूप से संचालित रही।
मंडल रेल प्रबंधक का निरीक्षण
आज, गौरव गोविल ने लालगढ़ रेलवे स्टेशन का निरीक्षण किया और क्राउड मैनेजमेंट तथा सुरक्षा व्यवस्थाओं का जायजा लिया। उन्होंने आरपीएफ कंट्रोल रूम से यात्रियों की सुरक्षा मॉनिटरिंग की जानकारी ली और आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश दिए।
उन्होंने कहा, “त्योहारी सीजन में यात्रियों की संख्या में अभूतपूर्व वृद्धि होती है। हमारा उद्देश्य है कि प्रत्येक यात्री को सुरक्षित, समय पर और आरामदायक यात्रा मिले। आधुनिक तकनीक, वार रूम मॉनिटरिंग और प्रमुख स्टेशनों पर मजबूत व्यवस्था के माध्यम से हमने यह सुनिश्चित किया है कि किसी को कोई असुविधा न हो।”
अतिरिक्त स्पेशल ट्रेनों का संचालन
त्योहारी समय में बढ़ती यात्री मांग को देखते हुए बीकानेर मंडल ने अतिरिक्त स्पेशल ट्रेनों का संचालन किया:
