Brigadier VS Chauhan Inaugurates Scuba Diving Camp for 200 NCC Cadets in Chandigarh
1 Naval Unit Chandigarh conducts specialised underwater training camp; outstanding cadets honoured for excellence in NCC activities.
The 1 Naval Unit Chandigarh, under the aegis of the NCC Group Chandigarh, organised a four-day Scuba Diving Camp for 200 NCC cadets from various units of Chandigarh Group from May 25 to 28, 2026.
The camp was inaugurated by Brigadier VS Chauhan, Group Commander, Chandigarh Group, who highlighted the importance of adventure-based training in developing confidence, discipline, leadership, and resilience among cadets.
The specialised training programme was designed to provide cadets with comprehensive exposure to underwater diving activities and acquaint them with the fundamentals of scuba diving, safety procedures, and aquatic skills.
Officials stated that the camp offered a unique opportunity for cadets to experience challenging training environments while enhancing their physical fitness, mental toughness, and teamwork capabilities.
Alongside the diving camp, a Felicitation Ceremony for Outstanding Achievers was also organised to recognise cadets who excelled in various NCC competitions, training events, and national-level activities.
Cadets from all four battalions under Chandigarh Group were honoured for their exceptional performances and contributions, reflecting the high standards of training and achievement maintained within the National Cadet Corps.

The event reinforced NCC’s commitment to holistic personality development through adventure, leadership training, and character-building activities while motivating cadets to continue striving for excellence in service and nation-building.
