Celebrating Women Writers of Rajasthan: Salina Utsav Honours Senior Female Authors for Their Contribution to Rajasthani Literature

The rich literary heritage of Rajasthan was celebrated in full spirit as the Salina Utsav, dedicated to Rajasthani women writers, was held at the Dr. Savitri-Madan Daga Sahitya Bhawan, Nehru Park, Jodhpur. Organised by the Rajasthani Lekhika Sansthan, this event not only paid tribute to the outstanding literary contributions of senior women authors but also emphasised the crucial role of women in carrying forward the legacy of Rajasthani language and literature.
The event was presided over by renowned litterateur Satyadev Savitendra, who, in his inspiring presidential address, highlighted the unique emotional depth women bring to literature — a sensitivity, he said, that men cannot replicate.
Women Writers: The Soul of Rajasthani Literature
Satyadev Savitendra, known for his progressive views on literature, praised the ever-growing participation of women in Rajasthani writing. He remarked, “Rajasthani literature is thriving. But when women express themselves through their words, the emotions reach a depth and delicacy that only they can achieve. Their writing has the power to enrich the movement for the recognition of the Rajasthani language itself.”
He also stressed the need for a distinct platform for women writers, stating that such a stage would allow their thoughts, emotions, and expressions to travel far and wide, empowering the literary landscape of Rajasthan.
Honouring Stalwarts of Rajasthani Literature
As part of the celebrations, three senior and distinguished women authors were felicitated for their lifelong dedication and literary achievements:
- Dr. Chandkaur Joshi
- Dr. Damyanti Kachhwaha
- Dr. Zeba Rashid
Their literary works have significantly contributed to enriching Rajasthani literature and inspiring the next generation of writers, especially women.
Tributes and Reflections
Noted speaker Basanti Panwar presented an insightful introduction to the life and literary journey of Dr. Kamla Kamlesh, shedding light on her dedication to Rajasthani literature. Shweta Sharma, visiting from Kota, read excerpts from Kamla Kamlesh’s famous work “Pagphera” and “Wo Dinaan Ki Baat”, which evoked nostalgia and pride among the audience.
Ugam Singh Rajpurohit offered a heartfelt account of the life and contributions of Dr. Savitri Daga, highlighting her influence on Rajasthani literary circles and cultural preservation.
Call for Contemporary Relevance
Chairing the concluding session, renowned litterateur Dr. Prakash Amrawat emphasized the importance of adapting Rajasthani literature to modern themes while preserving its rich vocabulary and cultural traditions. He urged writers to blend the heritage of old words and customs with contemporary issues, making the language relevant for today’s youth.
Veteran writers and scholars such as Dr. Kaluram Parihar, Padam Mehta, Dr. Fateh Singh Bhati, and Darshna Kanwar also addressed the gathering, reiterating their commitment to taking the Rajasthani language to new heights.
Institution Dedicated to Language and Culture
Dr. Sharda Krishna, President of the Rajasthani Lekhika Sansthan, shared that the institution, established last year, is committed to the promotion and preservation of Rajasthani language, literature, and culture. The institution continues to provide a platform for women writers to express their creativity and contribute to the literary world.
Secretary Kiran Rajpurohit, Joint Secretary Santosh Chaudhary, and other members expressed their gratitude to all participants and attendees, promising to continue their efforts in nurturing the Rajasthani literary tradition.
The event concluded with renewed determination to carry forward the movement for recognition and preservation of Rajasthani language, with women writers leading from the front.
जोधपुर में सालीणा उच्छब के तहत वरिष्ठ महिला साहित्यकारों का सम्मान, राजस्थानी लेखन में महिलाओं की अहम भूमिका पर जोर

राजस्थानी भाषा, साहित्य और संस्कृति की सशक्त धारा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए राजस्थानी लेखिका संस्थान की ओर से नेहरू पार्क स्थित डॉ. सावित्री-मदन डागा साहित्य भवन, जोधपुर में आयोजित सालीणा उच्छब के उद्घाटन समारोह में प्रदेश की वरिष्ठ महिला साहित्यकारों का सम्मान किया गया। इस आयोजन में महिलाओं द्वारा राजस्थानी भाषा में किए जा रहे सशक्त साहित्य सृजन पर गहन चर्चा हुई और उनकी विशिष्ट भूमिका को रेखांकित किया गया।
कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता करते हुए सुप्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार सत्यदेव सवितेंद्र ने कहा कि महिलाओं के लेखन में जो गहराई, संवेदनशीलता और भावनाओं की अभिव्यक्ति होती है, उसे पुरुष नहीं दोहरा सकते। उन्होंने कहा कि राजस्थानी महिला लेखिकाओं की संख्या में लगातार वृद्धि हो रही है और उनके लेखन में छिपी ऊर्जा से स्पष्ट होता है कि अगर इन्हें समर्पित मंच मिले तो राजस्थानी भाषा आंदोलन को नई दिशा मिल सकती है।
राजस्थानी भाषा को मिलेगी नई ऊर्जा
सत्यदेव सवितेंद्र ने कहा कि राजस्थानी भाषा में साहित्य लेखन खूब हो रहा है, पढ़ने वालों की संख्या भी बढ़ रही है, लेकिन महिला लेखिकाओं के लिए अलग मंच की आवश्यकता है ताकि उनके मन के भाव दूर-दूर तक पहुंच सकें। उन्होंने कहा कि महिलाओं द्वारा लिखा जा रहा साहित्य, राजस्थानी भाषा को मान्यता दिलाने के संघर्ष में सहायक सिद्ध होगा।
वरिष्ठ महिला साहित्यकारों का सम्मान
इस अवसर पर राजस्थानी भाषा में दीर्घकालीन लेखन और योगदान के लिए तीन वरिष्ठ महिला साहित्यकारों को सम्मानित किया गया:
- डॉ. चांदकौर जोशी
- डॉ. दमयंती कच्छवाहा
- डॉ. जेबा रशीद
इन साहित्यकारों के लेखन ने न केवल साहित्य जगत को समृद्ध किया है, बल्कि नई पीढ़ी को भी प्रेरित किया है।
साहित्य और जीवन पर प्रेरक प्रस्तुतियां
बसंती पंवार ने प्रतिष्ठित लेखिका डॉ. कमला कमलेश के जीवन, साहित्य और रचना यात्रा पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। कोटा से आईं श्वेता शर्मा ने कमला कमलेश की प्रसिद्ध पुस्तक “पगफैरा” एवं “वो दिनां की बात” के अंश पढ़कर श्रोताओं को भावविभोर कर दिया।
उगम सिंह राजपुरोहित ने डॉ. सावित्री डागा के व्यक्तित्व और कृतित्व पर आधारित पत्र वाचन कर उनकी साहित्यिक उपलब्धियों का उल्लेख किया।
समापन सत्र में आधुनिक विषयों पर जोर
समापन सत्र की अध्यक्षता करते हुए प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार डॉ. प्रकाश अमरावत ने कहा कि हमें राजस्थानी भाषा के पुराने शब्दों, परंपराओं और सांस्कृतिक विरासत को संजोते हुए, आज के दौर के अनुरूप नए विषयों को साहित्य में शामिल करना होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बदलते समय के साथ साहित्य में नई सोच और विषयों का समावेश आवश्यक है।
राजस्थानी भाषा को नई ऊंचाइयों पर ले जाने का संकल्प
डॉ. कालूराम परिहार, पदम मेहता, डॉ. फतेह सिंह भाटी, दर्शना कंवर सहित अनेक साहित्यकारों ने विचार साझा करते हुए राजस्थानी साहित्य मंच को शिखर तक पहुंचाने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।
द्वितीय सत्र में वरिष्ठ साहित्यकार मनोहर सिंह राठौड़, डॉ. मीनाक्षी बोराणा, प्रोफेसर डॉ. केएल राजपुरोहित सहित अन्य अतिथियों ने भी संबोधित कर महिलाओं की साहित्यिक भूमिका और राजस्थानी भाषा की महत्ता पर प्रकाश डाला।
संस्थान महिला लेखन के लिए बना प्रेरणास्त्रोत
संस्थान की अध्यक्ष डॉ. शारदा कृष्ण ने बताया कि राजस्थानी लेखिका संस्थान, जो पिछले वर्ष शुरू हुआ, महिलाओं को सशक्त मंच प्रदान करने और राजस्थानी भाषा, साहित्य एवं संस्कृति के उत्थान के लिए कार्यरत है।
संस्थान की सचिव किरण राजपुरोहित, सह सचिव संतोष चौधरी ने सभी अतिथियों, साहित्यकारों और श्रोताओं का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए भविष्य में भी इसी तरह के आयोजनों की निरंतरता का संकल्प लिया।
मायड़ भाषा के उत्थान में महिलाओं की अहम भूमिका
सभी वक्ताओं ने एक स्वर में कहा कि राजस्थानी भाषा के उत्थान और मान्यता के लिए महिलाओं की भूमिका को नजरअंदाज नहीं किया जा सकता। महिलाओं की लेखनी में छिपे भाव, संवेदनाएं और संघर्ष की गाथाएं, भाषा आंदोलन को नई दिशा देंगी।
सालीणा उच्छब के आयोजन ने यह सिद्ध कर दिया कि महिलाएं न केवल साहित्य सृजन में, बल्कि भाषा, संस्कृति और समाज के उत्थान में भी अग्रणी भूमिका निभा रही हैं।
