In a powerful assertion of India’s operational readiness along the western frontier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited the forward areas of the Konark Corps at Laungewala in Rajasthan’s desert sector on Monday. The visit, held under high security, marked a significant moment in India’s ongoing military posture following Operation Sindoor—a strategic operation that unfolded across the desert stretches from Jaisalmer to Kutch in recent months.
The Army Chief’s visit was aimed at personally congratulating the troops for their exemplary performance during Operation Sindoor and reviewing the synergy between the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force (IAF), and the Border Security Force (BSF) that led to a resounding operational success.
During his visit, General Dwivedi praised the soldiers of the Konark Corps for their “vigilant defence, high morale, and professional excellence” in the face of emerging threats along the International Boundary. He delivered a spirited “Shabash!” to the troops, recognizing their gallantry, strategic discipline, and the successful neutralization of enemy drone intrusions, which have recently become a growing tactical concern in desert warfare.
Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Leap in Desert Warfare
Launched amidst growing cross-border provocations, Operation Sindoor was a swift and decisive counter-operation aimed at blunting enemy infiltration attempts, monitoring hostile drone activity, and ensuring full-spectrum dominance along India’s vulnerable desert borders.
The operation saw seamless integration between the Indian Army, IAF, and BSF, with the rapid deployment of surveillance assets, anti-drone technology, and air defence systems. Weapon systems were precisely calibrated and strategically positioned across the region, with civil administration support playing a vital role in facilitating tactical mobility and local coordination.
From electronic warfare capabilities to drone jammers, Operation Sindoor represented a new era of joint force application in India’s desert theatre. The synergy among the three forces ensured not only deterrence but also high-impact tactical response, successfully foiling multiple infiltration attempts and maintaining total area domination.
Laungewala: A Symbol of Tactical Supremacy
General Dwivedi’s presence in Laungewala carried symbolic weight. The location, etched in Indian military history for the heroic stand during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, once again became the stage for strategic affirmation. His visit to the forward bases served to boost troop morale and underline the Army’s commitment to active defence.
Interacting with junior commissioned officers and jawans, the Army Chief commended the tireless efforts of soldiers operating in extreme desert conditions during peak summer. “The nation owes you a debt of gratitude,” he stated, “for standing resolute and alert, day and night, to preserve the sovereignty of our borders.”
High Readiness Amidst Changing Security Dynamics
General Dwivedi also engaged in closed-door discussions with field commanders, taking stock of infrastructure upgrades, weapon placements, logistics readiness, and inter-agency communication mechanisms. He reaffirmed the Indian Army’s doctrine of proactive defence and emphasized continued innovation, integrated drills, and real-time coordination with air and border forces.
“The Indian Army is and will remain combat-ready, technologically agile, and operationally unyielding. The western front will not only be secure but impenetrable,” the Army Chief declared.
This high-level visit comes at a time when the region has witnessed heightened surveillance activity, frequent drone sightings, and increased attempts by adversaries to exploit unguarded stretches along the desert terrain. General Dwivedi’s commendation underscores the strategic importance of proactive, integrated, and people-led defence operations.

राजस्थान के रेगिस्तानी सीमांत इलाके में सोमवार को एक ऐतिहासिक क्षण सामने आया, जब थल सेना अध्यक्ष जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी ने कोणार्क कोर के अग्रिम क्षेत्रों का दौरा किया और ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के दौरान सैनिकों की बहादुरी, तत्परता और सामरिक चतुराई के लिए उन्हें व्यक्तिगत रूप से बधाई दी। यह दौरा उस समय हुआ है जब भारतीय सेना ने पाकिस्तान की ओर से बढ़ती घुसपैठ और ड्रोन गतिविधियों के खिलाफ निर्णायक रूप से अपना वर्चस्व स्थापित किया है।
जनरल द्विवेदी ने ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के तहत सेना, वायुसेना और सीमा सुरक्षा बल के बीच हुए तालमेल की समीक्षा की और इसे एक “नई परिचालन परंपरा” करार दिया। उन्होंने सैनिकों को “शाबाश” कहकर उत्साहित किया और कहा कि भारतीय सेना की ताकत केवल उसकी संख्या में नहीं, बल्कि उसके अनुशासन, जोश और रणनीतिक सूझबूझ में है।
ऑपरेशन सिंदूर: भारत का रणनीतिक पलटवार
जैसलमेर से कच्छ तक फैले रेगिस्तानी क्षेत्रों में ऑपरेशन सिंदूर को एक संगठित और त्वरित सैन्य प्रतिक्रिया के रूप में देखा गया, जिसमें सेना, वायुसेना और बीएसएफ के बीच समन्वय अभूतपूर्व रहा। निगरानी उपकरणों, एंटी-ड्रोन तकनीक, और वायु रक्षा प्रणालियों की तेजी से तैनाती की गई। हथियार प्रणालियों की सटीक स्थिति और नागरिक प्रशासन के सहयोग ने क्षेत्रीय वर्चस्व और दुश्मन की हर गतिविधि को कुंद करने में अहम भूमिका निभाई।
ड्रोन गतिविधियों के खिलाफ जैमर तकनीक, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वारफेयर और आधुनिक निगरानी तकनीकों का इस्तेमाल कर भारतीय सेनाओं ने पश्चिमी सीमा पर निर्णायक बढ़त हासिल की। ऑपरेशन सिंदूर भारत की सैन्य रणनीति का नया अध्याय साबित हुआ, जिसमें सेना के साथ-साथ स्थानीय पुलिस और नागरिक तंत्र की भी अहम भूमिका रही।
लौंगेवाला की ऐतिहासिक भूमि पर फिर से सैन्य गौरव
जनरल द्विवेदी का दौरा खासतौर पर प्रतीकात्मक था, क्योंकि लौंगेवाला वही ऐतिहासिक स्थल है जहाँ 1971 के भारत-पाक युद्ध में भारतीय सेना ने अद्भुत वीरता दिखाई थी। एक बार फिर यह भूमि सैन्य संकल्प और रणनीतिक शक्ति का प्रतीक बन गई।
सैनिकों से संवाद करते हुए जनरल द्विवेदी ने कहा, “तपते रेगिस्तान में कठिन परिस्थितियों में डटे रहना केवल साहस नहीं बल्कि राष्ट्र के प्रति समर्पण की पराकाष्ठा है। देश आपकी सेवा और बलिदान के लिए सदैव ऋणी रहेगा।”
सतर्कता के नए मानक स्थापित
सेना प्रमुख ने उच्च अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक कर परिचालन तैयारियों, हथियार तैनाती, आपूर्ति श्रृंखला और इंटेलिजेंस समन्वय की भी समीक्षा की। उन्होंने भारतीय सेना की सक्रिय रक्षा नीति पर जोर देते हुए कहा कि आने वाले समय में तकनीकी नवाचार और संयुक्त अभ्यासों के माध्यम से भारत की पश्चिमी सीमा अभेद्य बनी रहेगी।
उन्होंने कहा, “भारतीय सेना भविष्य की किसी भी चुनौती से निपटने के लिए हमेशा तैयार है। हम न केवल सशक्त हैं, बल्कि हर स्तर पर सामरिक और मानसिक रूप से सतर्क भी हैं।”
यह दौरा ऐसे समय हुआ है जब पश्चिमी सीमा पर लगातार ड्रोन गतिविधियाँ, खुफिया इनपुट और घुसपैठ के प्रयास सामने आ रहे हैं। सेना प्रमुख की यह पहल भारत की ‘जिरो टॉलरेंस फॉर इनफिल्ट्रेशन’ नीति को और बल देती है।
