DEFENCE VETERANS AND SENIOR MILITARY LEADERS ENGAGE WITH YOUTH AT VIKSIT BHARAT YOUTH PARLIAMENT IN BIKANER; MAJOR GENERAL ABHAY GUPTA LEADS DISCUSSION ON DEMOCRATIC VALUES AND NATION-BUILDING
Bikaner, Rajasthan: Bringing together military leadership, democratic values and the aspirations of India’s young generation, the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament was organised at the Pratap Auditorium of Government Dungar College, Bikaner, on November 3. The programme witnessed the participation of senior defence officers, distinguished personalities and a large number of students, who came together to deliberate on parliamentary traditions, democratic institutions, electoral reforms and the role of youth in building a developed India.
The event was organised under the aegis of MY BHARAT Bikaner, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The initiative aimed to familiarise young participants with India’s parliamentary system, strengthen their understanding of democratic values and encourage their active participation in the nation’s development journey.
A major highlight of the programme was the presence of Major General Abhay Gupta as the Chief Guest. The event also witnessed the participation of Air Vice Marshal Mahavir Singh, Brigadier Mohan Verma, Colonel B.K. Majumdar and former Chairperson of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Meena Asopa, as distinguished guests.
The presence of senior Army and Air Force officers added an important dimension to the programme, connecting the experience of India’s defence leadership with the aspirations and responsibilities of the younger generation. Their participation also provided an opportunity for students to engage with personalities associated with national service, leadership, discipline and institutional responsibility.
The central theme of the Youth Parliament was ‘One Nation, One Election’, an important subject of contemporary national debate concerning India’s electoral framework and democratic processes.
During the programme, young participants presented their arguments both in favour of and against the proposed concept. Through structured parliamentary debates, students discussed electoral reforms, democratic accountability, the functioning of legislative institutions and the possible implications of simultaneous elections for India’s political and administrative system.
The participants demonstrated their understanding of parliamentary procedures by presenting reasoned arguments, responding to opposing viewpoints and engaging in constructive discussions. The exercise provided them with practical exposure to parliamentary-style deliberations and encouraged them to appreciate the importance of informed debate in a democratic society.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of constitutional values, responsible citizenship and the ability to examine public policy questions from multiple perspectives. Rather than limiting the exercise to speeches, the Youth Parliament created a platform where students could experience the discipline of parliamentary discussion, including structured arguments, respectful disagreement and logical expression.
Major General Abhay Gupta and the other distinguished guests appreciated the active participation and enthusiasm demonstrated by the young participants. They encouraged students to become informed and responsible citizens and to contribute meaningfully towards nation-building.
The interaction with senior defence personalities was particularly significant in the context of leadership and national responsibility. India’s Armed Forces represent an important national institution built around discipline, dedication, teamwork and commitment to the country. The participation of senior military officers at such youth-oriented initiatives helped bring these broader values into the discussion on citizenship and national development.
The programme was conducted under the direction and coordination of District Youth Officer Vijeta Majumdar, MY BHARAT Bikaner. She emphasised that the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is an important platform for connecting young people with democratic institutions and developing their leadership abilities, communication skills and sense of responsible citizenship.
She also highlighted the importance of providing young people with opportunities to understand parliamentary processes and participate in discussions on issues shaping India’s future.
A large number of students, young participants and distinguished personalities attended the programme, reflecting considerable enthusiasm among Bikaner’s youth for democratic engagement and national development initiatives.
The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament forms part of the broader effort to encourage youth participation in public life and strengthen their understanding of India’s democratic framework. By bringing together students and experienced personalities from the defence and civilian sectors, the Bikaner event offered a meaningful platform for dialogue between generations.
The participation of Major General Abhay Gupta, Air Vice Marshal Mahavir Singh, Brigadier Mohan Verma and Colonel B.K. Majumdar remained among the key highlights of the event, reinforcing the connection between military leadership, national service and the aspirations of India’s future generation.
The message emerging from the programme was clear: building a developed India requires not only strong institutions but also informed, disciplined and responsible young citizens who understand their role in shaping the nation’s future.

बीकानेर : लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों, संसदीय परंपराओं और राष्ट्र निर्माण में युवाओं की भूमिका को मजबूत बनाने के उद्देश्य से बीकानेर के राजकीय डूंगर महाविद्यालय में विकसित भारत युवा संसद का भव्य आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम में भारतीय सेना और भारतीय वायुसेना के वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारियों की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति विशेष आकर्षण का केंद्र रही। मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में मेजर जनरल अभय गुप्ता शामिल हुए, जबकि विशिष्ट अतिथियों के रूप में एयर वाइस मार्शल महावीर सिंह, ब्रिगेडियर मोहन वर्मा और कर्नल बी.के. मजूमदार ने कार्यक्रम की शोभा बढ़ाई। इनके साथ बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओ की पूर्व अध्यक्ष श्रीमती मीना आसोपा भी मौजूद रहीं। सैन्य नेतृत्व और युवाओं के इस संगम ने कार्यक्रम को राष्ट्र सेवा, अनुशासन, नेतृत्व क्षमता और लोकतांत्रिक जिम्मेदारी के व्यापक संदर्भ से जोड़ दिया।
युवा कार्यक्रम एवं खेल मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के MY BHARAT बीकानेर के तत्वावधान में 3 नवंबर को राजकीय डूंगर महाविद्यालय के प्रताप सभागार में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य युवाओं को देश की संसदीय व्यवस्था, लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाओं और संवैधानिक मूल्यों से परिचित कराना था। इसके साथ ही युवाओं में नेतृत्व क्षमता, तार्किक अभिव्यक्ति, संवाद कौशल और राष्ट्र निर्माण के प्रति जिम्मेदारी की भावना विकसित करने पर विशेष जोर दिया गया।
कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि मेजर जनरल अभय गुप्ता की उपस्थिति ने आयोजन को विशेष महत्व प्रदान किया। उनके साथ भारतीय वायुसेना के एयर वाइस मार्शल महावीर सिंह, ब्रिगेडियर मोहन वर्मा और कर्नल बी.के. मजूमदार की मौजूदगी ने युवाओं को देश की रक्षा, सैन्य नेतृत्व और राष्ट्रीय दायित्वों से जुड़े वरिष्ठ व्यक्तित्वों के साथ एक साझा मंच प्रदान किया। सैन्य अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति ने विद्यार्थियों के सामने यह संदेश भी रखा कि राष्ट्र निर्माण केवल किसी एक क्षेत्र की जिम्मेदारी नहीं, बल्कि देश के प्रत्येक नागरिक की सामूहिक भागीदारी से संभव होता है।
कार्यक्रम का प्रमुख विषय ‘एक राष्ट्र, एक चुनाव’ रहा, जिस पर युवाओं ने पक्ष और विपक्ष में अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किए। संसदीय बहस के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों ने देश की चुनावी व्यवस्था, लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रियाओं, चुनावी सुधारों और प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था पर इसके संभावित प्रभावों से जुड़े विभिन्न पहलुओं पर चर्चा की।
युवा प्रतिभागियों ने निर्धारित संसदीय प्रक्रिया के अनुरूप अपने विचार रखे और विषय के पक्ष तथा विपक्ष में तार्किक तर्क प्रस्तुत किए। इस दौरान विद्यार्थियों ने केवल अपने विचार व्यक्त नहीं किए, बल्कि विरोधी पक्ष की दलीलों को सुनने, उनका तार्किक जवाब देने और स्वस्थ लोकतांत्रिक संवाद बनाए रखने का भी परिचय दिया। कार्यक्रम में संसदीय बहस की मर्यादा, तथ्यों के आधार पर अपनी बात रखने और असहमति के बावजूद संवाद की परंपरा को विशेष महत्व दिया गया।
‘एक राष्ट्र, एक चुनाव’ जैसे विषय पर चर्चा के माध्यम से युवाओं को यह समझने का अवसर मिला कि किसी भी बड़े लोकतांत्रिक सुधार पर विचार करते समय संवैधानिक व्यवस्था, लोकतांत्रिक जवाबदेही, चुनावी प्रक्रिया और प्रशासनिक आवश्यकताओं जैसे विभिन्न पहलुओं का अध्ययन करना आवश्यक है। इस प्रकार युवा संसद विद्यार्थियों के लिए केवल भाषण प्रतियोगिता नहीं रही, बल्कि लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था को व्यावहारिक रूप से समझने और संसदीय कार्यप्रणाली का अनुभव प्राप्त करने का मंच बनी।
कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित मेजर जनरल अभय गुप्ता सहित अन्य गणमान्य अतिथियों ने युवाओं की सक्रिय भागीदारी और विषय पर उनकी तैयारी की सराहना की। अतिथियों ने युवाओं को जागरूक नागरिक बनने, लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाओं का सम्मान करने और राष्ट्र निर्माण में अपनी सकारात्मक भूमिका निभाने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
इस आयोजन में सेना और वायुसेना के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की भागीदारी का एक विशेष महत्व भी रहा। भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों की पहचान अनुशासन, नेतृत्व, समर्पण, कर्तव्यनिष्ठा और राष्ट्र के प्रति सर्वोच्च प्रतिबद्धता से जुड़ी है। ऐसे में वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी ने युवाओं के बीच राष्ट्रीय सेवा और जिम्मेदार नागरिकता के महत्व को और प्रभावी ढंग से सामने रखा। सैन्य नेतृत्व और युवा पीढ़ी के बीच इस तरह के संवाद से विद्यार्थियों को राष्ट्रीय संस्थाओं, नेतृत्व क्षमता और सार्वजनिक जीवन में जिम्मेदारी के महत्व को समझने का अवसर मिलता है।
कार्यक्रम में एयर वाइस मार्शल महावीर सिंह, ब्रिगेडियर मोहन वर्मा और कर्नल बी.के. मजूमदार की उपस्थिति ने भारतीय सेना और वायुसेना से जुड़े अनुभवों तथा राष्ट्रीय नेतृत्व के महत्व को आयोजन के व्यापक संदर्भ से जोड़ा। वहीं श्रीमती मीना आसोपा की उपस्थिति ने सामाजिक जागरूकता और महिला सशक्तिकरण से जुड़े विषयों को भी कार्यक्रम में प्रतिनिधित्व प्रदान किया।
पूरे कार्यक्रम का निर्देशन एवं संयोजन MY BHARAT बीकानेर की जिला युवा अधिकारी विजेता मजूमदार के नेतृत्व में किया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि विकसित भारत युवा संसद युवाओं को लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रियाओं से जोड़ने का महत्वपूर्ण मंच है। इसके माध्यम से युवाओं में नेतृत्व क्षमता, संवाद कौशल, तार्किक चिंतन और जिम्मेदार नागरिकता की भावना विकसित करने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है।
उन्होंने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि विकसित भारत के लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिए युवाओं की सक्रिय भागीदारी आवश्यक है। युवा पीढ़ी को केवल देश की नीतियों और लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था के बारे में जानकारी रखने तक सीमित नहीं रहना चाहिए, बल्कि उन्हें राष्ट्र के भविष्य से जुड़े विषयों पर विचार-विमर्श करने और जिम्मेदार नागरिक के रूप में अपनी भूमिका निभाने के लिए भी आगे आना चाहिए।
कार्यक्रम में बड़ी संख्या में विद्यार्थियों, युवाओं और गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। प्रताप सभागार में आयोजित इस युवा संसद ने विद्यार्थियों को अपनी प्रतिभा प्रदर्शित करने, सार्वजनिक मुद्दों पर विचार रखने और संसदीय परंपराओं को समझने का अवसर प्रदान किया।
कुल मिलाकर, डूंगर कॉलेज बीकानेर में आयोजित विकसित भारत युवा संसद लोकतांत्रिक जागरूकता और युवा नेतृत्व को प्रोत्साहित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण आयोजन रहा। विशेष रूप से मेजर जनरल अभय गुप्ता, एयर वाइस मार्शल महावीर सिंह, ब्रिगेडियर मोहन वर्मा और कर्नल बी.के. मजूमदार जैसे वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति ने इसे एक विशिष्ट पहचान दी।
इस आयोजन ने यह संदेश दिया कि विकसित भारत का निर्माण केवल आर्थिक विकास या आधारभूत संरचनाओं तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि इसके लिए मजबूत लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाएं, जागरूक नागरिक, अनुशासित नेतृत्व और राष्ट्र के प्रति समर्पित युवा पीढ़ी भी उतनी ही आवश्यक है। बीकानेर में आयोजित इस युवा संसद ने इसी सोच को आगे बढ़ाते हुए युवाओं को लोकतंत्र और राष्ट्र निर्माण की प्रक्रिया से जोड़ने का प्रयास किया।
