Today, in a momentous ceremony at Raj Bhavan, the Honourable Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), flagged off the ‘Car Rally from Clement Town to Pune.’ This rally serves as a poignant tribute to Operation ‘Badli’ and marks the 75th Anniversary of the National Defence Academy’s establishment on 16January 2024.

Operation ‘Badli,’ which commenced in 1954 under the distinguished leadership of Maj Gen Enayat Habibullah, stands as a landmark in military annals. The journey, which originated near Raj Bhavan, symbolizes the unwavering commitment displayed by cadets and officers during the transition. The rally’s route encompasses key cities, including Delhi, Gwalior, MHOW, Nashik, and Mumbai, culminating at the National Defence Academy in Pune, spanning a challenging 1800 kms over 6 days.

The presence of the Commandant of the National Defence Academy, Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, AVSM, NM, added gravitas to the event. Notably, the Honorable Governor of Uttarakhand, an illustrious alumnus of the National Defence Academy from the 50th Course, Charlie Squadron, graced the occasion, underscoring his deep-rooted connection to the academy’s legacy.

Mahindra Auto’s generous sponsorship ensured the rally’s success by providing six vehicles, emphasizing their commitment to supporting endeavors that celebrate valor, camaraderie, and national pride.

In commemorating the bravery and sacrifices that resonate with the NDA’s legacy, today’s rally not only pays homage but also serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces. This occasion reminds us of our shared commitment to upholding values of excellence, integrity, and nation-building.
