Four CISF Officers Promoted to Inspector General Rank

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has officially promoted four Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank officers to the rank of Inspector General (IG) within the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). This promotion comes as part of the 2024 panel year and marks a key development in the leadership structure of the CISF.

The officers elevated to the IG rank include:

  • Ajay Kumar, who will now serve as Inspector General at the CISF’s North Central Regional Sector Headquarters (NCRS HQ) in New Delhi
  • Jyoti Sinha, appointed as Inspector General at DAE & DOS Headquarters in New Delhi
  • Sikhar Sahai, taking over as Inspector General at the North Eastern Sector-II Headquarters (NES-II HQ) in Kolkata
  • Kahnu Charan Samantaray, now IG (Admin) at the CISF’s Force Headquarters (FHQ) in New Delhi

This strategic placement of seasoned officers across various high-stakes positions within the CISF underscores the organization’s commitment to enhancing security at vital industrial and governmental infrastructures.
