Gyan Shakti Think Tank in Collaboration with CUTS International Organises Seminar on “India’s Journey: Charting the Path to a Viksit Bharat”

Jaipur, Saturday, 18 January 2025: In a significant initiative aimed at steering India towards the vision of a developed nation by 2047, the Gyan Shakti Think Tank of the Sapta Shakti Command, in collaboration with the Consumer Utility Trust Society (CUTS International), organised a seminar titled “India’s Journey: Charting the Path to a Viksit Bharat.” The event took place on 17 January 2025 at the Jaipur Military Station, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders including military officials, academicians, government representatives, and industry experts.

The seminar, held under the aegis of Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the South Western Command, was designed to foster dialogue and collaboration among key sectors of society. The primary focus was on understanding and strategising the collective efforts needed to achieve the goal of a developed India (Viksit Bharat).

The keynote address was delivered by the esteemed economist and visionary, Mr. Pradeep S. Mehta, Secretary General of CUTS International. In his compelling presentation, Mr. Mehta highlighted India’s remarkable journey towards becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy. He underscored the need for a multifaceted approach to development, emphasising the importance of human capital enhancement, economic reforms, green growth, and the strengthening of social infrastructure. Mr. Mehta stressed that these elements must converge to realise the dream of a Viksit Bharat.

The discussions at the seminar also delved into the implementation strategies required to foster social cohesion and cooperation. Aligning with the national ethos of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,” the speakers emphasised the importance of inclusive growth and collective effort. The session culminated in an exhaustive question-and-answer segment, where attendees explored various aspects of development, addressing both challenges and opportunities on the path to a developed India.

In his address, Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh provided a military perspective on the theme. He highlighted the critical role that defence and technological advancements play in achieving national development goals. He praised the contributions of military personnel and veterans in nation-building, noting that their dedication and service are integral to India’s progress. The Army Commander also shed light on the government’s initiatives aimed at holistic development, emphasising that a unified, “whole-of-nation” approach is crucial to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The seminar was attended by senior military officers, academic leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders who actively engaged in discussions, sharing their insights and recommendations. The collaborative environment fostered at the event underscored the importance of joint efforts across different sectors to drive India’s growth and development.

By bringing together diverse perspectives, the seminar served as a catalyst for future initiatives aimed at fostering a prosperous and developed India.
