भारत की आंतरिक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था और खुफिया तंत्र के केंद्र में रहने वाली इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो यानी आईबी को लेकर एक बार फिर दिल्ली के सत्ता और सुरक्षा गलियारों में बड़ी हलचल देखने को मिल रही है। देश की सबसे पुरानी और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण घरेलू खुफिया एजेंसी के अगले नेतृत्व को लेकर चर्चाएं तेज हो चुकी हैं। सूत्रों के अनुसार आईबी निदेशक के लिए तैयार किए जा रहे संभावित पैनल में तीन बड़े नामों पर गंभीर स्तर पर विचार किया जा रहा है। इनमें वर्तमान आईबी प्रमुख तपन कुमार डेका के साथ-साथ दो स्पेशल डायरेक्टर महेश दीक्षित और ऋत्विक रुद्र के नाम शामिल बताए जा रहे हैं। महेश दीक्षित और ऋत्विक रुद्र दोनों 1993 बैच के आईपीएस अधिकारी हैं और लंबे समय से देश की संवेदनशील सुरक्षा और खुफिया जिम्मेदारियों से जुड़े रहे हैं।

फिलहाल तपन कुमार डेका जून 2026 तक आईबी प्रमुख के रूप में कार्यरत रहेंगे। वहीं महेश दीक्षित और ऋत्विक रुद्र जैसे वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के नाम सामने आने से यह साफ संकेत मिल रहा है कि भविष्य की रणनीतिक जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखते हुए सरकार संभावित विकल्पों का मूल्यांकन कर रही है।
