India-Germany Defence Cooperation Strengthens as Lt Gen Nagendra Singh Leads Instructor Exchange Delegation to Dresden

New Delhi/Dehradun, October 8, 2026: Defence cooperation between India and Germany received a further boost with a delegation led by Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh, Commandant of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, visiting the German Army Officers School in Dresden and 371 Mechanised Infantry Battalion on October 6–7, 2026.

The visit was conducted as part of the Instructor Exchange Programme, aimed at strengthening professional military engagement and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices between the armed forces of the two countries.

During the engagement, the delegation gained insights into various aspects of officer and cadet training, while providing opportunities for the exchange of professional experiences and training methodologies. Such interactions are aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and developing a deeper appreciation of each other’s military training systems.

The visit also highlighted the importance of institutional-level military exchanges in strengthening long-term defence partnerships. The interaction between Indian and German military training institutions is expected to contribute towards greater professional cooperation, interoperability and sharing of best practices.

The engagement reflects the growing momentum in India-Germany defence cooperation, with military-to-military exchanges playing an important role in building trust, professional understanding and strategic convergence between the two countries.


लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल नागेंद्र सिंह के नेतृत्व में भारतीय सैन्य प्रतिनिधिमंडल का जर्मनी दौरा, भारत-जर्मनी रक्षा सहयोग को मिली नई मजबूती

नई दिल्ली/देहरादून, 8 अक्टूबर 2026: भारत और जर्मनी के बीच रक्षा सहयोग को और मजबूत करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम के तहत भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी (IMA), देहरादून के कमांडेंट लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल नागेंद्र सिंह के नेतृत्व में भारतीय सैन्य प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने 6 और 7 अक्टूबर 2026 को जर्मनी के जर्मन आर्मी ऑफिसर्स स्कूल, ड्रेसडेन और 371 मैकेनाइज्ड इन्फैंट्री बटालियन का दौरा किया।

यह दौरा Instructor Exchange Programme के तहत किया गया, जिसका उद्देश्य दोनों देशों की सेनाओं के बीच सैन्य प्रशिक्षण, पेशेवर अनुभव और सर्वोत्तम प्रशिक्षण पद्धतियों का आदान-प्रदान करना है।

दौरे के दौरान अधिकारी कैडेट प्रशिक्षण से जुड़े विभिन्न पहलुओं पर विचारों का आदान-प्रदान किया गया। भारतीय और जर्मन सैन्य अधिकारियों के बीच हुई बातचीत से दोनों देशों की सैन्य प्रशिक्षण प्रणालियों को समझने और प्रशिक्षण के क्षेत्र में एक-दूसरे के अनुभवों से सीखने का अवसर मिला।

इस तरह के संस्थागत सैन्य आदान-प्रदान कार्यक्रम भारत और जर्मनी के बीच पारस्परिक समझ, पेशेवर सहयोग और सैन्य संबंधों को मजबूत करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। अधिकारी प्रशिक्षण के क्षेत्र में अनुभव और सर्वोत्तम प्रक्रियाओं को साझा करने से दोनों सेनाओं के बीच दीर्घकालिक सैन्य सहयोग को और गति मिलने की उम्मीद है।
