स्थानीय स्तर पर विकास को गति देने की दिशा में एक अहम कदम के तहत, भारत की प्रतिनिधि ने की अध्यक्ष सुश्री हयात दजानी के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए। यह एमओयू भारत सरकार द्वारा वित्तपोषित क्विक इम्पैक्ट प्रोजेक्ट के तहत सोसाइटी के स्कूल के पुनर्वास और उन्नयन के लिए है। हस्ताक्षर समारोह जेरिको और जॉर्डन वैली के गवर्नर डॉ. हुसैन हमायल की उपस्थिति में संपन्न हुआ, जो इस पहल को मिल रहे स्थानीय प्रशासनिक समर्थन को दर्शाता है। परियोजना के अंतर्गत आधुनिक तकनीकी सुविधाओं—जैसे नए कंप्यूटर, आईटी उपकरण और प्रमुख बुनियादी ढांचे के सुधार—के ज़रिये छात्रों, विशेषकर लड़कियों और युवतियों, के लिए एक बेहतर और आधुनिक शिक्षण वातावरण विकसित किया जाएगा।
फिलिस्तीन में भारत की नौवीं क्विक इम्पैक्ट परियोजना, लोगों-केंद्रित विकास का प्रमाण
यह पहल फिलिस्तीन में भारत सरकार द्वारा समर्थित नौवीं क्विक इम्पैक्ट परियोजना है। इससे पहले पश्चिमी तट (वेस्ट बैंक) में सात परियोजनाएं सफलतापूर्वक पूरी की जा चुकी हैं, जिनसे शिक्षा, सामुदायिक अवसंरचना और सामाजिक सशक्तिकरण के क्षेत्रों में प्रत्यक्ष लाभ मिला है। भारत की यह रणनीति स्थानीय आवश्यकताओं, तेज़ क्रियान्वयन और ठोस परिणामों पर आधारित रही है। जेरिको की यह परियोजना अगस्त में भारत की प्रतिनिधि की सोसाइटी यात्रा और महिला सशक्तिकरण व शिक्षा में संस्था के योगदान के विस्तृत आकलन के बाद सामने आई, जो भारत की जमीनी विकास पर केंद्रित सोच को दर्शाती है।

भारत–फिलिस्तीन सांस्कृतिक और शैक्षणिक संबंधों को और सुदृढ़ करते हुए, रामल्ला स्थित भारत के प्रतिनिधि कार्यालय ने के पुस्तकालय में “इंडिया कॉर्नर” की स्थापना के लिए भारत पर केंद्रित पुस्तकों का एक विशेष संग्रह भेंट किया। यह पहल छात्रों और शिक्षकों को भारत के इतिहास, संस्कृति, समकालीन विचार और अकादमिक संसाधनों से जोड़ने का माध्यम बनेगी। विश्वविद्यालय अध्यक्ष नूरुद्दीन अबू रब, वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों और के छात्रवृत्ति प्राप्त पूर्व छात्रों के साथ बातचीत के दौरान भारत की प्रतिनिधि ने इंडिया कॉर्नर को और विस्तारित करने की मंशा भी जताई।

Government of India-Funded Quick Impact Project Strengthens Women’s Education and Community Development in Jericho
In a landmark step toward strengthening grassroots development, the Representative of India formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ms. Hayat Dajani, President of the , for the implementation of a Government of India-funded Quick Impact Project aimed at the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Society’s school. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of H.E. Dr. Hussein Hamayel, Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, reflecting the strong local institutional support for the initiative. The project focuses on modernising the learning environment through advanced technological interventions, including the provision of new computers, IT infrastructure, and upgrades to essential facilities, thereby directly enhancing educational access and quality for local students, particularly girls and young women.
Ninth Quick Impact Project Reflects India’s Sustained People-Centric Development Approach in Palestine
This initiative marks the ninth Quick Impact Project supported by the Government of India in Palestine in recent years, with seven projects already successfully completed across the West Bank, delivering tangible benefits in education, community infrastructure, and social empowerment. India’s Quick Impact Projects have emerged as a hallmark of its development cooperation strategy, prioritising local needs, rapid implementation, and visible outcomes. The Jericho project builds upon the Representative’s earlier visit to JWCS in August last year and a detailed assessment of the Society’s significant contribution to education and women’s empowerment, reaffirming India’s belief that sustainable development begins at the community level.
India Business Day in Jericho Opens New Avenues for Trade, SMEs and Private Sector Collaboration
Expanding economic engagement formed another key pillar of the visit, as the Representative Office of India organised “India Business Day” in collaboration with the Jericho Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event brought together Palestinian public and private sector representatives alongside Indian institutions and business participants, both in person and virtually, creating a rare and valuable platform for cross-border commercial dialogue. With active participation from the , the Coffee Board of India, and the Ministry of Textiles of India, as well as Palestinian Ministries of Agriculture and Tourism and local private sector stakeholders, the discussions highlighted the untapped potential of India–Palestine trade and investment cooperation.

During her interaction with University President Noureldeen Abu Rub, senior university officials, and scholarship alumni, the Representative expressed her intention to further expand the India Corner with additional books and learning materials.

The visit to Al Istiqlal University also included a tour of the campus and library, where the Representative emphasised the critical role of libraries in nurturing reading habits, critical thinking, and intellectual inquiry. In a significant institutional engagement, the Representative of India visited the in Jericho, where she was received by Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Haroun, Head of the Commission, along with senior officers. During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Haroun provided a comprehensive briefing on the Commission’s strategic framework, training curricula, and ongoing development initiatives aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness of Palestinian security personnel. A guided tour of the training facilities offered insight into the scale and scope of the Commission’s work in professionalising and modernising security training.
