Acting on an urgent request from the Maharashtra government and local civic authorities, the IAF has deployed a specialised Air Traffic Control team along with critical technical equipment from Air Force Station Lohegaon to Baramati Airport. The move comes in the aftermath of a devastating crash landing that claimed the lives of all five people on board, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, plunging the state and the nation into mourning.
Rapid IAF Response: Emergency Air Traffic Control and Meteorological Support Established
Defence officials confirmed that the IAF team reached Baramati without delay and immediately set up emergency Air Traffic Control services, ensuring basic but crucial aviation safety mechanisms were restored at the airport. The IAF’s public communication framed the deployment as part of its broader commitment to national service during crises. Parallel to the IAF’s operational support, the investigation into the crash has intensified. Officials from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau were seen at the offices of VSR Ventures Private Limited, the operator of the ill-fated charter aircraft. Visuals from the site showed AAIB personnel carefully collecting boxes of documents and loading them into vehicles for detailed scrutiny. These records are expected to form the backbone of the technical investigation into what caused the aircraft to crash during its landing attempt.
Investigators are focusing on airframe and engine logbooks, maintenance work orders, on-board documentation, and records of major inspections carried out on the aircraft. These documents will be analysed to identify any mechanical issues, maintenance lapses, or procedural deviations that may have contributed to the tragedy.

The probe has also widened to include regulatory oversight and operational data. The investigation team has formally sought documents from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation related to both the flight crew and the aircraft. In addition, radar data recordings, CCTV footage from the airport vicinity, ATC communication tapes, and hotline conversations are being secured for forensic analysis. This multi-layered approach indicates that investigators are examining every possible angle, ranging from technical failure and human error to environmental factors and regulatory compliance.

The chartered aircraft was attempting to land at Baramati Airport in Pune district at around 8.48 am when it crash-landed near the runway threshold. The impact was catastrophic, leaving no survivors. Among those killed were Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, aged 66, his personal security officer, a flight attendant, and two pilots. The loss of such a senior political leader in an aviation accident has added a profound political and emotional dimension to the tragedy.

हादसे के साथ ही जांच एजेंसियों ने भी मोर्चा संभाल लिया है। एयरक्राफ्ट एक्सीडेंट इन्वेस्टिगेशन ब्यूरो (AAIB) के अधिकारी उस कंपनी वीएसआर वेंचर्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के कार्यालय पहुंचे, जो दुर्घटनाग्रस्त चार्टर विमान का संचालन कर रही थी। वहां से अधिकारियों को महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेजों के बक्से वाहनों में ले जाते देखा गया। इन दस्तावेजों के जरिए यह समझने की कोशिश की जा रही है कि कहीं विमान के रखरखाव, तकनीकी स्थिति या संचालन प्रक्रिया में कोई चूक तो नहीं हुई।
एयरफ्रेम, इंजन लॉगबुक और मेंटेनेंस रिकॉर्ड जांच के दायरे में
AAIB की जांच टीम विमान से जुड़े हर तकनीकी पहलू को खंगाल रही है। इसमें एयरफ्रेम और इंजन की लॉगबुक, मेंटेनेंस वर्क ऑर्डर, ऑन-बोर्ड दस्तावेज और बड़े निरीक्षण से जुड़े रिकॉर्ड शामिल हैं। इन सभी कागजातों का बारीकी से विश्लेषण किया जाएगा ताकि यह पता लगाया जा सके कि हादसे से पहले विमान की तकनीकी स्थिति क्या थी और कहीं किसी तरह की अनदेखी या लापरवाही तो नहीं हुई।
DGCA, रडार डेटा और ATC रिकॉर्डिंग भी जांच के घेरे में
जांच का दायरा यहीं तक सीमित नहीं है। जांच एजेंसियों ने नागर विमानन महानिदेशालय (DGCA) से भी विमान और उसके क्रू से जुड़े दस्तावेज मांगे हैं। इसके अलावा रडार डेटा रिकॉर्डिंग, एयरपोर्ट और आसपास के CCTV फुटेज, ATC बातचीत की रिकॉर्डिंग और हॉटलाइन कम्युनिकेशन को भी जब्त कर विश्लेषण के लिए सुरक्षित किया जा रहा है। इससे यह समझने में मदद मिलेगी कि लैंडिंग के दौरान क्या परिस्थितियां थीं और किस स्तर पर चूक हुई।
कैसे हुआ हादसा: बारामती एयरपोर्ट पर टूटा दुखों का पहाड़
यह चार्टर विमान सुबह करीब 8.48 बजे बारामती एयरपोर्ट पर उतरने की कोशिश कर रहा था, तभी रनवे थ्रेशहोल्ड के पास वह क्रैश लैंड हो गया। टक्कर इतनी भीषण थी कि विमान में सवार किसी को भी बचाया नहीं जा सका। इस हादसे में महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार (66), उनके निजी सुरक्षा अधिकारी, एक फ्लाइट अटेंडेंट और दो पायलटों की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। एक वरिष्ठ राजनीतिक नेता की इस तरह की आकस्मिक मृत्यु ने पूरे महाराष्ट्र और देश को झकझोर कर रख दिया है।
