Indian Army Inaugurates LED Assembly Workshop Cum Factory to Boost Employment and Promote Green Energy in Rajouri

Rajouri, 13 September 2024 — In a significant move towards creating sustainable job opportunities and advancing green energy initiatives, the Indian Army inaugurated the LED Assembly Workshop cum Factory in Rajouri on 13 September 2024. This initiative is part of the Youth Skill Development Project under Operation Sadhbhavna, aimed at fostering employment and skill development among the local youth.

The workshop, a collaborative effort between the Indian Army and the Career Trust Park (NGO), represents a substantial investment in the future of Rajouri’s youth. The facility is designed to offer comprehensive training and employment opportunities to over 75 local candidates. Participants will receive hands-on training in the assembly and packaging of a variety of LED-based lighting products, including bulbs, street lights, emergency lights, and flood lights.

The training program, spanning a total of 500 hours over a period of 90 days, will equip candidates with the skills necessary to excel in the growing field of green technology. Upon successful completion of the training, each participant will be awarded a certification recognized across India, enhancing their employability and career prospects.

The new LED Assembly Workshop cum Factory not only aims to provide valuable skills but also strives to contribute to the broader goals of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. By fostering constructive employment avenues, this initiative aligns with the Indian Army’s commitment to supporting and empowering local communities through sustainable development projects.

The inauguration of the workshop is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy by creating job opportunities and promoting environmentally friendly practices. It represents a forward-thinking approach to addressing the needs of the youth in Rajouri and underscores the Indian Army’s role in driving positive change and development in the region.

This effort reflects the Indian Army’s broader strategy under Operation Sadhbhavna, which focuses on improving the quality of life for people in conflict-affected areas through various socio-economic and developmental programs. By investing in the future of Rajouri’s youth, the Indian Army is helping to build a foundation for long-term growth and stability in the region.
