Indian Army Reaffirms Commitment to Veterans as 198th Raksha Pension Samadhan Aayojan Held in Bhubaneswar

The 198th Raksha Pension Samadhan Aayojan (RPSA) was successfully organized in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, providing a dedicated platform to address pension-related grievances of Armed Forces veterans, Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and defence civilian pensioners. The event aimed to ensure timely resolution of long-pending pension issues while strengthening the welfare framework for retired defence personnel and their families.
Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command (Surya Command), expressed appreciation for the initiative organized under the leadership of Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) AN Das. He stated that the Indian Army remains committed to the welfare of its veterans and families of martyrs and welcomed the organization of the Pension Samadhan event in Bhubaneswar.
Lt Gen Sengupta said that the forum provides an important opportunity for ex-servicemen, Veer Matas (mothers of fallen soldiers), Veer Naris (widows of fallen soldiers), and pensioners facing difficulties in receiving their rightful benefits to directly present their grievances before the concerned authorities. He emphasized that such initiatives help resolve long-standing pension disputes through on-the-spot interaction and coordination between the Army, Defence Accounts Department, and pension authorities.
Highlighting the significance of the programme, the Army Commander noted that pension is not merely a financial entitlement but a recognition of the lifelong service and sacrifice made by soldiers and their families for the nation. He added that simplifying pension procedures and ensuring faster grievance redressal would further strengthen the trust and bond between the Indian Army and its veterans.
The Raksha Pension Samadhan Aayojan brought together officials from the Defence Accounts Department, pension disbursing agencies, Army representatives, and retired personnel under one roof to facilitate direct interaction and immediate solutions wherever possible. Participants received guidance on pension revisions, family pension, disability pension, documentation, digital services, and other pension-related matters.
Officials stated that the initiative forms part of the Ministry of Defence’s continued efforts to improve pension administration through transparency, accessibility, and citizen-centric service delivery. Such outreach programmes are being organized across the country to ensure that retired defence personnel and their dependents receive their dues without unnecessary delays.
The event concluded with officials reiterating their commitment to providing dignified, transparent, and efficient pension services to veterans and the families of India’s brave soldiers.

ओडिशा की राजधानी भुवनेश्वर में 198वें रक्षा पेंशन समाधान आयोजन (Raksha Pension Samadhan Aayojan-RPSA) का सफल आयोजन किया गया। इस विशेष कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों के पूर्व सैनिकों, वीर नारियों, वीर माताओं तथा रक्षा नागरिक पेंशनभोगियों की पेंशन संबंधी समस्याओं का त्वरित एवं प्रभावी समाधान सुनिश्चित करना था। इस आयोजन में विभिन्न रक्षा एवं लेखा विभागों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने भाग लेकर लाभार्थियों की शिकायतों का सीधे समाधान किया।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान भारतीय सेना की सेंट्रल कमांड (सूर्य कमांड) के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ (GOC-in-C) लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल अनिंद्य सेनगुप्ता ने कहा कि सूर्य कमांड इस पहल से अत्यंत प्रसन्न है, जिसे नियंत्रक महालेखा रक्षा (CGDA) ए.एन. दास के नेतृत्व में आयोजित किया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह मंच पूर्व सैनिकों, वीर माताओं, वीर नारियों तथा उन सैनिकों के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है जो किसी कारणवश अपनी पेंशन संबंधी समस्याओं से जूझ रहे हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसे समाधान शिविरों के माध्यम से पात्र लाभार्थियों को अपनी शिकायत सीधे संबंधित अधिकारियों के समक्ष रखने का अवसर मिलता है, जिससे वर्षों से लंबित मामलों का भी शीघ्र निस्तारण संभव हो पाता है। उन्होंने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि भविष्य में भी इस प्रकार के आयोजन पेंशन प्रक्रिया को और अधिक सरल, पारदर्शी एवं सम्मानजनक बनाएंगे।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सेनगुप्ता ने कहा कि भारतीय सेना अपने पूर्व सैनिकों, वीर नारियों और वीर माताओं को केवल पेंशनभोगी नहीं बल्कि सेना परिवार का अभिन्न हिस्सा मानती है। उन्होंने कहा कि सैनिकों और उनके परिवारों का राष्ट्र के प्रति योगदान अमूल्य है तथा उनकी सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करना सेना और राष्ट्र दोनों की जिम्मेदारी है।
इस आयोजन में रक्षा लेखा विभाग, पेंशन वितरण एजेंसियों, सेना के प्रतिनिधियों तथा विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया। कार्यक्रम के दौरान परिवार पेंशन, दिव्यांगता पेंशन, पेंशन संशोधन, डिजिटल सेवाओं, दस्तावेज़ीकरण तथा अन्य लंबित मामलों पर विस्तृत मार्गदर्शन प्रदान किया गया। कई मामलों का मौके पर ही समाधान किया गया, जबकि जटिल मामलों को प्राथमिकता के आधार पर निस्तारण हेतु संबंधित कार्यालयों को भेजा गया।
रक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा देशभर में आयोजित किए जा रहे रक्षा पेंशन समाधान आयोजनों का उद्देश्य पेंशन व्यवस्था को अधिक पारदर्शी, जवाबदेह एवं नागरिक-केंद्रित बनाना है। यह पहल पूर्व सैनिकों और शहीदों के परिवारों तक सरकारी सेवाओं को सरलता से पहुंचाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम मानी जा रही है।
कार्यक्रम के समापन पर अधिकारियों ने आश्वासन दिया कि भविष्य में भी ऐसे जनकल्याणकारी आयोजन जारी रहेंगे, ताकि देश की सेवा करने वाले सैनिकों और उनके परिवारों को सम्मान, सुविधा और समय पर पेंशन उपलब्ध कराई जा सके।
