Indian Army Signs MoU with SASTRA University to Empower Soldiers’ Families Through Education — A Step Toward Honour, Welfare, and Nation-Building

A Tribute to the Martyrs — 100% Free Education for Their Children
As per the MoU, SASTRA University will offer a 100% tuition fee waiver, along with free boarding and lodging, for the wards of soldiers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.

A senior Army official remarked,

Inclusive Opportunities for Serving and Retired Soldiers’ Families

The scheme includes:
- 50% tuition fee scholarship for the wards of serving personnel, and for wards of retired personnel whose annual income is below ₹5 lakh (excluding pension).
- 20% tuition fee scholarship for the wards of retired personnel whose annual income exceeds ₹5 lakh (excluding pension).
These scholarships will apply across a wide range of courses at SASTRA University — from engineering, law, and management to humanities, sciences, and technology — ensuring that children from diverse academic interests can pursue their aspirations without financial barriers.

देश की सुरक्षा, समर्पण और सेवा भावना को शिक्षा से जोड़ते हुए भारतीय सेना ने एक ऐतिहासिक कदम उठाया है। तमिलनाडु स्थित शन्मुख आर्ट्स, साइंस, टेक्नोलॉजी एंड रिसर्च एकेडमी (SASTRA Deemed University) के साथ सेना ने एक सहमति ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।
इस समझौते का उद्देश्य भारतीय सेना के शहीद, सेवारत और सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों के बच्चों को बेहतर शैक्षणिक अवसर प्रदान करना है — यह कदम सेना की अपने परिवारों के प्रति गहरी प्रतिबद्धता और कल्याणकारी दृष्टि को दर्शाता है।

इस समझौते के तहत SASTRA विश्वविद्यालय ने घोषणा की है कि सेवा के दौरान शहीद हुए सैनिकों के बच्चों को 100% ट्यूशन फीस माफ की जाएगी, साथ ही रहने और खाने की संपूर्ण व्यवस्था निशुल्क होगी।
यह प्रावधान न केवल शहीदों के सर्वोच्च बलिदान को सम्मानित करता है, बल्कि यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि उनके परिवार शिक्षा के माध्यम से आत्मनिर्भर और सम्मानजनक जीवन जी सकें।
एक वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी ने कहा —
“हमारे सैनिकों का बलिदान अमर है। यह समझौता सुनिश्चित करता है कि उनके बच्चे पीछे न छूटें — वे शिक्षा के माध्यम से अपने माता-पिता की सेवा और सम्मान की परंपरा को आगे बढ़ा सकें।”
यह कदम भारतीय सेना के उस स्थायी वादे का प्रतीक है — कि जो परिवार देश की रक्षा में अपना सब कुछ न्योछावर करते हैं, उनके साथ सेना हमेशा खड़ी रहेगी।
सेवारत और सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों के परिवारों के लिए भी लाभ
यह MoU केवल शहीद परिवारों तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि इसमें सेवारत और सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों के बच्चों के लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण लाभ शामिल हैं।
समझौते के अनुसार:
- सेवारत सैनिकों के बच्चों और ₹5 लाख वार्षिक आय (पेंशन को छोड़कर) से कम आय वाले सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों के बच्चों को 50% ट्यूशन फीस छात्रवृत्ति मिलेगी।
- ₹5 लाख से अधिक आय वाले सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों के बच्चों को 20% ट्यूशन फीस छात्रवृत्ति दी जाएगी।
ये छात्रवृत्तियां SASTRA विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न पाठ्यक्रमों पर लागू होंगी — जैसे इंजीनियरिंग, विधि, प्रबंधन, विज्ञान, मानविकी और प्रौद्योगिकी। इस तरह सैनिकों के बच्चे अपनी रुचि के अनुसार किसी भी क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ सकेंगे, बिना आर्थिक बोझ के।
शिक्षा के माध्यम से सैनिक परिवारों का सशक्तिकरण
यह MoU भारतीय सेना की उस व्यापक कल्याण नीति का हिस्सा है जिसमें शिक्षा को सामाजिक सशक्तिकरण का आधार माना गया है।
