Indian Army’s Forever in Operations Division Organizes National Integration Tour for Dras Students to Jammu, Delhi, and Jaipur

In a heartwarming initiative to foster unity and showcase India’s rich cultural heritage, the Indian Army’s Forever in Operations Division recently conducted a National Integration Tour for young students from the rural landscapes of Dras. The initiative, part of the Army’s broader outreach program, provided 15 children and two teachers from Army Goodwill School, Dras, a nine-day educational journey through Jammu, Delhi, and Jaipur, allowing these young minds a glimpse into the nation’s vibrancy, unity, and diversity.

The tour was flagged off on October 25 from the historic Kargil War Memorial, symbolizing a journey from the landscapes of resilience to the very heart of India. The students began their tour by visiting the prestigious IIT Jammu, where they were inspired by one of the nation’s top educational institutions and exposed to the possibilities of higher learning and technological advancement. Their journey through the capital city of Delhi included visits to India Gate and the National War Memorial, which celebrate the sacrifice and valor of India’s armed forces. The students also explored the architectural grandeur of both the Old and New Parliament Houses, the Rashtrapati Bhawan, and the Nehru Planetarium, exposing them to India’s governance and scientific progress.

The tour further took them to Jaipur, known as the Pink City, where they were immersed in the rich historical and cultural tapestry of Rajasthan. They marveled at the architectural beauty of Amber Fort, the iconic Hawa Mahal, and the Albert Hall Museum. A visit to Chokhi Dhani introduced them to Rajasthani cuisine and traditions, leaving them with lasting memories of the local culture.

A highlight of the tour was the rare opportunity to interact with the Honorable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who along with senior Indian Army officials, encouraged the students to aspire to great heights, embrace India’s diversity, and contribute to its growth. The young students from Dras returned home with a renewed sense of pride and patriotism, taking with them memories of India’s unity and diversity.

The Indian Army’s initiative has enriched these young minds, helping them appreciate the nation’s cultural depth and technological prowess. Through this tour, the Army has inspired a new generation of ambassadors of peace and unity from the remote reaches of Dras, symbolizing the essence of India’s strength in diversity.
