INS Visakhapatnam Deployed in the Gulf of Aden Responds to MV’s Distress Call – Augments Firefighting Effort onboard

INS Visakhapatnam, a guided missile destroyer, deployed in the Gulf of Aden responded to distress call from MV Marlin Luanda on the night of 26 Jan 24. The MV has 22 Indian and 01 Bangladeshi crew onboard.

Based on request from the MV Marlin Luanda, INS Visakhapatnam has deployed Ship’s NBCD team along with firefighting equipment to render assistance to the crew towards augmenting fire fighting efforts onboard the distressed MV.

Indian Navy remains steadfast and committed towards safeguarding MVs and ensuring safety of life at sea.
