“International Poet Shahid Abbas Attends Kaif Book Ceremony at Tandianwala, Pakistan” by Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo

Multi-awarded International Poet Shahid Abbas from Pakistan was invited as a Special Guest at the Kaif Book Ceremony held at the Press Club of Tandianwala, Pakistan last October 2nd. He did a talk on how writers and poets serve as catalysts for change in the world and that writers have this sacred mission of serving humanity.

The book event was graced by several esteemed local literary personalities which includes Muhammad Usman Phalrawan, an M.Phil Scholar, teacher, columnist, critic, and researcher, Shabbir Shahid, Host of Qurtas e-Shabbir Shahid Facebook Live Show. Also present in the event were Haider Ali Haider a.k.a Teji Akh, a young student and poet, and Ch. Aliza Gul, another Punjabi Poet.

Published books in Punjabi were gifted as tokens to Shahid Abbas. The Kaif Book Ceremony was organized to promote the works of Punjabi writers and poets and to continue nourishing the Punjabi dialect.

Shahid Abbas is the author of “Words from Nature” recently published in USA and a co-author of “We Speak in Syllables” published in South Africa and other international anthologies. He is also the co-author of “Verses of Meraki”, a collaborative book project with Author Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo from Philippines which will also be published in USA.

Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo is a multi-awarded International Author/Poet and Visual Artist from the Philippines. She is the author of “Seasons of Emotions” (UK) and “Inner Reflections of the Muse” and a co-author to more than 100 international anthologies. She is currently working on her third book “Vers’d Ambedo.”
