*LIEUTENANT GENERAL DHIRAJ SETH RELINQUISHES COMMAND OF SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND, JAIPUR

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth relinquished Command of Jaipur based Sapta Shakti Command on 30 June 2024 and proceeded to take over command of Pune based Southern Command. On this occasion, the General Officer paid tributes to the Bravehearts at the Prerna Sthal at Jaipur Military Station.

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth took over the reins of Sapta Shakti Command on 01 November 2023. During his tenure, the Sapta Shakti Command imbibed latest niche technologies, achieved high level of synergy and developed innovative techniques, tactics and procedures to enhance operational readiness and evolved into a modern, lethal and mission ready force.
Upon relinquishing Command, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth extended his gratitude & warm greetings to all ranks of Sapta Shakti Command, Veer Naris, Veterans, Defence Civilian Employees and their families. He exhorted all ranks to live upto the Sapta Shakti Command motto of ‘Forever Victorious’ and contribute towards the society and nation building.

For his illustrious contribution to the service, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth was awarded with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

The General Officer is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He was commissioned into 2nd LANCERS on 20 December 1986. The General Officer commanded Skinner’s Horse, an Armoured Brigade, a Counter Insurgency Force in J&K and one of the prestigious Strike Corps on the Western Front. Prior to taking over command of South Western Command, General Officer was General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area. The officer has shouldered several staff appointments including Brigade Major of an Independent Armoured Brigade, Assistant Military Secretary at MS Branch, Brigadier General Service (Operations) at HQ South Western Command and three tenures in different branches at the Army Headquarters, Delhi. He has been an Instructor and Assistant Adjutant at National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Colonel Instructor at School of Armoured Warfare, The Armoured Corps Centre & School, Ahmednagar. His overseas deployment includes a tenure with UNAVEM-III from 1995 to 1996 as Operations Officer.
The General Officer has excelled in all the courses of instructions. The officer was awarded the ‘Silver Centurion’ in the ‘Young Officers’ Course and stood first in the Radio Instructor and the Junior Command Course. He went on to be awarded with the “Best All Round Student” trophy at the Defence Services Staff College Course at Wellington. The General officer has attended the prestigious Defence Services Command and General Staff Course at Military College, Paris, France and is an alumnus of Higher Command Course at Mhow and the National Defence College at New Delhi. He is also qualified on the International Defence Acquisition Management Course at Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, USA.
