Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria Takes Over as Commandant of Army War College, Mhow
Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi hands over charge after key reforms in training, doctrine and digital learning at premier Army institution.

Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, has assumed charge as Commandant of the Army War College (AWC), Mhow.
He took over the appointment from Lieutenant General Harjeet Singh Sahi, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, during a formal handing-over ceremony attended by senior officers, faculty members, and staff of the institution.

During Lt Gen Sahi’s tenure, the Army War College witnessed significant advancements in training methodologies, doctrinal development, red teaming practices, digital learning initiatives, and infrastructure upgradation aimed at enhancing professional military education and operational preparedness.

Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria brings with him extensive operational, staff, and instructional experience and is expected to lead the institution into its next phase of transformation and modernization.

The Army War College remains one of the premier institutions of the Indian Army, playing a critical role in shaping operational leadership, strategic thinking, and future warfare capabilities for Army officers.
