Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, addressed the media at the North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, underscoring the importance of innovation and collaboration in strengthening India’s defence ecosystem.

The symposium, organised jointly by the Central and Northern Commands of the Indian Army in collaboration with Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), showcased a wide range of indigenous defence technologies and solutions aimed at enhancing operational capability.

Lt Gen Sengupta highlighted that the theme “Raksha Triveni Sangam: Technology, Industry & Soldiering” reflects the seamless integration of innovation, industrial capability, and battlefield requirements. He noted that the platform brings together the Armed Forces, industry partners, startups, innovators, and academia to develop practical, field-driven solutions to emerging operational challenges.

Focusing on the Middle Sector, the Army Commander emphasised the need for reliable and resilient systems capable of operating in high-altitude terrain and extreme weather conditions. He pointed out requirements such as specialised clothing, advanced mobility solutions, habitat support, and robust logistics systems to sustain operations in remote and connectivity-constrained environments.

He also appreciated the contributions of SIDM, Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), government agencies, and industry stakeholders for making the symposium outcome-oriented and impactful.

The event highlights the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering self-reliance, encouraging innovation, and building a future-ready force equipped to meet evolving security challenges.
