Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Operational Preparedness of Golden Katar Division, Highlights Technology-Enabled Training, Logistics Sustainability and Modernisation

Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, visited the Golden Katar Division to review its operational preparedness, combat readiness and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives. The visit provided an opportunity to assess the formation’s preparedness for contemporary operational challenges while taking stock of measures being undertaken to strengthen training, logistics, modernisation and overall combat effectiveness.
During the visit, the Army Commander reviewed the formation’s operational preparedness and combat readiness, with particular emphasis on ensuring that troops remain capable of responding effectively to a rapidly evolving security environment. The assessment focused on the ability of the formation to maintain high levels of readiness, adapt to changing battlefield conditions and leverage modern technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
A key focus of the visit was technology-enabled training. With the character of warfare undergoing significant transformation, technology has become an increasingly important component of military preparedness. Modern battlefields demand personnel who are not only physically and mentally resilient but are also technologically proficient and capable of operating effectively in an increasingly complex operational environment.
The emphasis on technology-enabled training reflects the Indian Army’s continuing efforts to prepare its formations for future battlefields, where advanced surveillance, communications, unmanned systems, precision capabilities, digital technologies and networked operations are expected to play an increasingly important role.
Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar reviewed initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of training, with the objective of ensuring that troops are prepared for a wide range of operational contingencies. The visit also focused on modernisation and capability enhancement initiatives being undertaken by the formation. The integration of modern equipment, improved training methodologies, technology-driven systems and enhanced logistical capabilities can significantly strengthen the ability of formations to respond to contemporary and future threats.
The Army Commander’s review therefore highlighted the need for a balanced approach combining combat readiness, technology, training, logistics sustainability and modernisation. During the visit, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar also appreciated the Golden Katar Division for its exemplary Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts during the recent floods in Gujarat.
The appreciation is significant as the Indian Army’s role during natural disasters frequently extends beyond conventional military responsibilities. During major floods and other emergencies, Army formations can be called upon to assist civil authorities in evacuation, rescue, relief operations and restoration of essential connectivity and services.
The formation’s contribution during the floods in Gujarat demonstrated the importance of maintaining a high level of preparedness not only for combat operations but also for humanitarian contingencies. Such missions require rapid mobilisation, effective coordination, logistical flexibility and the ability to operate in difficult conditions.
HADR operations also demand close coordination between the armed forces, civil administration, police, disaster-response agencies, medical teams and local authorities. The experience gained during such operations can further strengthen the ability of military formations to respond rapidly during future emergencies.
The Army Commander’s recognition of the formation’s HADR efforts therefore underlines the importance of the Indian Army’s broader commitment to supporting the nation during times of natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

At the same time, technology must be supported by strong human skills, leadership, discipline and operational experience. The effectiveness of modern military systems ultimately depends upon the ability of trained personnel to use them efficiently and make timely decisions in demanding circumstances.
The focus on logistics sustainability similarly reflects the broader requirement to build resilient military formations. Combat power is dependent not only on weapons and personnel but also on the ability to sustain troops, equipment and operations over time.
A resilient logistics architecture can provide formations with greater flexibility during contingencies and reduce the risk of operational disruption. Efficient resource utilisation, preparedness and sustained availability of essential supplies are therefore critical to maintaining combat readiness.
The modernisation initiatives reviewed during the visit are also expected to contribute to enhancing the formation’s operational capabilities. Modernisation is not limited to induction of new equipment; it also involves improving processes, training, infrastructure, maintenance systems and operational concepts.

भारतीय सेना की सदर्न कमांड के आर्मी कमांडर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजेश पुष्कर, AVSM, VSM ने गोल्डन कटार डिवीजन का दौरा कर फॉर्मेशन की ऑपरेशनल तैयारियों, कॉम्बैट रेडीनेस और क्षमता बढ़ाने से जुड़ी विभिन्न पहलों की समीक्षा की। इस दौरान बदलते युद्धक्षेत्र और भविष्य की सैन्य चुनौतियों के अनुरूप सैनिकों की तैयारियों को मजबूत करने, तकनीक आधारित प्रशिक्षण को बढ़ावा देने, लॉजिस्टिक्स को अधिक टिकाऊ बनाने और आधुनिकीकरण की दिशा में किए जा रहे प्रयासों पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया।
आर्मी कमांडर के दौरे का प्रमुख उद्देश्य फॉर्मेशन की ऑपरेशनल रेडीनेस और कॉम्बैट कैपेबिलिटी का आकलन करना रहा। आधुनिक सुरक्षा वातावरण में सैन्य बलों को तेजी से बदलती परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप खुद को तैयार रखना पड़ता है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए गोल्डन कटार डिवीजन की युद्धक तैयारियों, प्रशिक्षण स्तर और भविष्य की चुनौतियों से निपटने की क्षमता की समीक्षा की गई।

दौरे के दौरान Technology-Enabled Training पर विशेष जोर रहा। युद्ध का स्वरूप तेजी से बदल रहा है और आधुनिक सैन्य अभियानों में सर्विलांस, कम्युनिकेशन, अनमैन्ड सिस्टम, डिजिटल टेक्नोलॉजी, प्रिसिजन क्षमताओं और नेटवर्क आधारित ऑपरेशंस की भूमिका लगातार बढ़ रही है।
ऐसे में भविष्य के युद्धक्षेत्र के लिए सैनिकों को तैयार करने में तकनीक आधारित प्रशिक्षण महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकता है। टेक्नोलॉजी को प्रशिक्षण प्रक्रिया में शामिल करने से सैनिकों और कमांडरों को आधुनिक प्रणालियों की बेहतर समझ विकसित करने, संभावित खतरों का आकलन करने और दबाव की परिस्थितियों में तेजी से प्रतिक्रिया देने की क्षमता को मजबूत करने में मदद मिलती है।

सैनिकों तक आवश्यक रसद, उपकरण, ईंधन, परिवहन और अन्य संसाधनों की निरंतर उपलब्धता युद्धक क्षमता का महत्वपूर्ण आधार होती है। खासकर लंबे समय तक चलने वाले या हाई-इंटेंसिटी ऑपरेशंस के दौरान लॉजिस्टिक्स में किसी भी तरह का व्यवधान ऑपरेशनल क्षमता को प्रभावित कर सकता है।
इसीलिए लॉजिस्टिक्स सिस्टम को अधिक Resilient और Sustainable बनाने की दिशा में उठाए जा रहे कदमों को महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है। संसाधनों का बेहतर प्रबंधन, समय पर उपलब्धता और लॉजिस्टिक नेटवर्क की मजबूती फॉर्मेशन की कॉम्बैट रेडीनेस को सीधे तौर पर प्रभावित करती है।
दौरे के दौरान Modernisation और Capability Enhancement Initiatives की भी समीक्षा की गई। आधुनिक युद्धक्षेत्र में सैन्य आधुनिकीकरण का महत्व लगातार बढ़ रहा है। नई तकनीकों और बदलते युद्धक तरीकों के बीच सैन्य फॉर्मेशन के लिए आधुनिक उपकरणों, बेहतर ट्रेनिंग सिस्टम और तकनीकी क्षमताओं को अपनाना आवश्यक हो गया है।
आधुनिकीकरण का मतलब केवल नए हथियारों और उपकरणों को शामिल करना नहीं है। इसके अंतर्गत ट्रेनिंग मेथडोलॉजी, इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, मेंटेनेंस, लॉजिस्टिक्स, ऑपरेशनल प्रक्रियाओं और तकनीकी सिस्टम में सुधार भी शामिल है।

दौरे का एक महत्वपूर्ण पहलू गुजरात में हाल की बाढ़ के दौरान गोल्डन कटार डिवीजन द्वारा किए गए Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief यानी HADR प्रयासों की सराहना रहा।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजेश पुष्कर ने बाढ़ जैसी प्राकृतिक आपदा के दौरान फॉर्मेशन द्वारा किए गए सराहनीय राहत एवं बचाव प्रयासों की प्रशंसा की। यह इस बात को दर्शाता है कि भारतीय सेना की जिम्मेदारी केवल युद्ध के समय देश की रक्षा तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि प्राकृतिक आपदाओं और मानवीय संकटों के दौरान भी सेना महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है।
बाढ़ जैसी परिस्थितियों में सेना के जवानों को बेहद चुनौतीपूर्ण वातावरण में काम करना पड़ता है। राहत और बचाव अभियानों में लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों तक पहुंचाना, आवश्यक संसाधनों की आपूर्ति, आपातकालीन सहायता और नागरिक प्रशासन के साथ समन्वय जैसे कई कार्य शामिल हो सकते हैं।
ऐसे अभियानों में Rapid Mobilisation, Logistics Flexibility, Inter-Agency Coordination और Quick Decision-Making बेहद महत्वपूर्ण होते हैं। गोल्डन कटार डिवीजन के HADR प्रयासों की सराहना इसी पेशेवर क्षमता और प्रतिबद्धता को मान्यता देती है।

इस तरह के ऑपरेशंस के लिए सैनिकों का शारीरिक रूप से फिट, मानसिक रूप से मजबूत, प्रशिक्षित और संसाधनों से लैस होना जरूरी है।
दौरे के दौरान ऑपरेशनल रेडीनेस को एक Continuous Process के रूप में देखने पर भी जोर रहा। सैन्य फॉर्मेशन को नियमित रूप से अपनी क्षमताओं की समीक्षा करनी होती है, कमियों की पहचान करनी होती है और बदलती परिस्थितियों के अनुसार अपने प्रशिक्षण तथा ऑपरेशनल प्रक्रियाओं को अपडेट करना होता है।
आज का सुरक्षा वातावरण तेजी से बदल रहा है। तकनीकी विकास, नए प्रकार के खतरे और मल्टी-डोमेन ऑपरेशंस सैन्य तैयारियों के सामने नई चुनौतियां पेश कर रहे हैं। ऐसे में फॉर्मेशन को Agile, Adaptive और Technology-Proficient बनाना जरूरी है।
Technology-Enabled Training इसी बदलाव का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है। प्रशिक्षण में आधुनिक तकनीक और वास्तविक ऑपरेशनल परिस्थितियों को शामिल करने से सैनिकों को भविष्य के युद्धक्षेत्र में आने वाली परिस्थितियों के लिए बेहतर ढंग से तैयार किया जा सकता है।
हालांकि तकनीक की भूमिका बढ़ रही है, लेकिन आधुनिक सैन्य प्रणालियों की सफलता अंततः प्रशिक्षित सैनिकों, नेतृत्व, अनुशासन, निर्णय क्षमता और अनुभव पर निर्भर करती है। इसलिए तकनीकी क्षमता के साथ मजबूत मानव कौशल और उच्च स्तर का प्रशिक्षण भी जरूरी है।
इसी तरह Logistics Sustainability भी सैन्य शक्ति का एक महत्वपूर्ण आधार है। किसी भी फॉर्मेशन की कॉम्बैट पावर तभी लंबे समय तक प्रभावी रह सकती है, जब उसके पास आवश्यक संसाधनों और उपकरणों की निरंतर उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित हो।
मजबूत और टिकाऊ लॉजिस्टिक्स नेटवर्क ऑपरेशनल परिस्थितियों में फॉर्मेशन को अधिक लचीलापन देता है और लंबे समय तक अभियानों को जारी रखने की क्षमता को मजबूत करता है।
दौरे के दौरान आधुनिकीकरण से जुड़े प्रयासों की समीक्षा भी इसी व्यापक दृष्टिकोण का हिस्सा रही। आधुनिक सैन्य क्षमता केवल नए उपकरणों से नहीं बनती, बल्कि ट्रेनिंग, टेक्नोलॉजी, लॉजिस्टिक्स, इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, मेंटेनेंस और ऑपरेशनल प्रक्रियाओं के एकीकृत विकास से तैयार होती है।
