Lt Gen Virendra Vats Visits NCC Directorate Rajasthan, Meets CM Bhajan Lal Sharma

Discussions focus on NCC expansion, cadet welfare, training academy, and enhanced travel facilities.

Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), undertook his maiden visit to NCC Directorate Rajasthan in Jaipur on May 7–8, 2026.

During the visit, the DG NCC called on Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and held a detailed discussion on key issues related to NCC expansion and cadet welfare in the state. The meeting focused on proposals such as allotment of land and budgetary support for establishing a dedicated NCC Training Academy in Rajasthan.

Other important matters discussed included sanction of additional manpower for the NCC Expansion Plan and approval for providing 3-tier AC travel facilities for NCC cadets, aimed at improving accessibility and participation.

Subsequently, Lt Gen Vats visited the NCC Directorate, where he was comprehensively briefed by the Deputy Director General on the overall functioning, training activities, and outreach initiatives of NCC units across the state.

The visit underscored the NCC’s continued efforts to expand its footprint, enhance infrastructure, and strengthen youth development programmes, aligning with its mission of nation-building and leadership development.
